We've eaten here before and my wife orders the cob salad to go for lunch sometimes. We stopped in while our daughter was at an interview. After placing our order we waited for 15 minutes with no napkins, silverware, or drinks. Our food begins to arrive and we still have none of these very basic items. I expected that the waitress would see that we were missing these things upon food delivery and would bring them out. Even if she was a new waitress I would have to assume that at her age she has eaten at a sit down restaurant before. Apparently I hoped for too much. It was another 10 minutes and we had to call her to the table as she was on the way to fetch drinks for newly arrived customers. My burger arrived well done when I had asked for medium well. The waitress spent some time sweeping while my margarita was still being made over 30 minutes after I had ordered it. I should mention that were less than 10 people in the entire place and over half were at the bar. When she retrieved my margarita she left the broom on the floor in the middle of the dining room as a trip hazard. The margarita may be the worst margarita I have ever had, couldn't even top a Hornitos pre mixed. Had to grab our own condi.ents and napkins from another table and never got silverware. We had to leave within 10 minutes of our food arriving. At least the sweet potato...
Read moreSat down at a seat at the bar. Ordered the meat platter, side of loaded mashed potatoes, and the pork nuggets for an appetizer. Had an Amaretto Sour and glass of water to drink. The pork nuggets weren't horrible, but lacked something that would make them better. Maybe needed more seasoning? One of the nuggets was over-fried and twice as dark as the others. The meat platter was a very generous portion of Tri-Tip, chicken, and pulled pork. The pork was a little dry (sauce on the side), and didn't have any "smoked" flavor. The chicken was sliced chunks of white meat with very little seasoning. It was cooked well. The Tri-Tip was overcooked and without any noticable seasoning or "smoked" flavor. Probably the worst Tri-Tip I've every had. I question whether or not it was cooked the same day. The side of loaded mashed potatoes was dry and tasted bland for being "loaded". You could tell it was more of a thrown together and let it set until ordered dish, rather than mashed potatoes with the extras added in and served to order. The bartender was pleasant and the other staff walking around seemed to be in a good mood, treating everyone well. I'm not a local. I come to the area for business on occasion. If the locals like this, great for them! For me however, I'll pass on Smokin' Barrels next time...
Read moreSo, where to start? My husband and I came in at 12:15 today. Ended up walking out at 12:50. Still had not received our food when we came in,. We sat at our table for at least 5 minutes Before we were acknowledged. we placed our order and then decided our lunch hour was almost over so we had to go. We had asked the waitress how much longer she replied, she did not know. There wasn't a lot of people in there so we were confused. We had told her we wanted to cancel. She walked over toward the bartender. The bartender apparently went to check on Our food came over to our table and said that our food was coming out. We said we still wanted to cancel. She said okay. You still need to buy your sodas. I told her that my soda, which was a Shirley Temple, tasted horrible and I didn't drink it. She still charged us $3.50. I didn't realize that my husband put down $4 and I gave 50 cents. So technically we ended up tipping a dollar. She asked us why we were leaving sounded like a forced question. She didn't care. You would have thought as a courtesy for the inconvenience. We wouldn't be charged for the soda. But in fact she took the extra dollar and didn't say anything. HORRIBLE just HORRIBLE. boo smoking barrels, SHAME ON YOU!!! You should value customers...
