This is one of my favorite places in Fountain Hills! The menu selections are vast and the bagels are some of the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with one of the staff on 5/13/25. I attempted to stop for breakfast this morning but was five minutes early from the doors opening. I did encounter a lady who had put something out but locked the doors as she walked back in. I asked her what time the doors open and she said 6:00. I did say it was almost 6:00, to which she replied, "I doubt it". She was clearly irritated. She opened the door and rudely asked, "What do you want" as I was standing outside the door. I told her I only wanted two toasted bagels. She walked away and I asked, "May I come in?" She mumbled something and made it clear I was inconveniencing her. I told her never mind on that order and that she was rude and I was no longer interested in the order. I love this establishment and the last time I was there the staff could not have been more pleasant. Perhaps this woman was having a bad day this morning or there was something else going on that made her treat a customer so poorly. However, when you are working directly with the public, you need to show them the level of respect you would want for yourself. I work in public service in the death industry and communicate with countless people every day going through many emotions. We give them grace when a harsh comment, behavior or action presents itself. But this lady this morning was one of the rudest customer service representatives I have encountered in a very long time and a poor representation of what I feel this business is all about. The business deserves better than that. I will keep visiting the business as I find them outstanding! But I hope I never have to deal with that...
Read moreMy wife and I enjoyed coming here for years until last year when we both got sick after eating there.
Today, a year later, we decided to give them a second chance after reading reviews and checking heath inspection reports which were good.
We ordered our 2 sandwiches on plain begals which came with a side and was a bit shocked at the high price. I don't fault them for Joe's inflation. After all the food we ate there in the past deserved to be a premium. It was that good and worth it.
We took the order to go and came home only to discover that one slice of a bagel on our sandwich was black, hard, and uneatable. We did not order it toasted. It looked like plastic fell on it during the baking process but I don't know for sure what it was. So, I threw it out.
We inspected the rest of our food and it looked OK. It was just that one slice. Hopefully the owner/management will read this and better inspect their bagels in the future. We are now a bit too scared to go back there again. The 2 stars are just for...
Read moreI came here and wanted to get an everything bagel with a slice of sausage and cheese. No eggs.
They didn't have everything bagels left. They didn't have cheddar bagels left. They didn't have parmesan bagels left.
So, I just paid $9.48 for a plain bagel, with a slice of sausage and a slice of cheese.
Is the food here supposed to be golden, or made for kings?
Once again, was this made for a king, or royalty? Why is it near $10 for something so basic? A single plain bagel with 1 slice of cheese and 1 sausage patty.
Oh, and the bagels have been shrinking as well.. I've been coming here for 20 years and the bagels are the size of my fist now. They used to be normal size.
Tastes good but not worth the price. I could make bagel sandwiches all week for the price of that one single small sandwich I just got.
Also, sign in the shop - "due to the egg prices, all sandwiches have gone up" - I didn't get eggs on my sandwich and it was still the premium price. Just...
