Make sure you get the Ong Choi (basically some amazing garlic sauteed spinach), if you like catfish the catfish dish is always here! Okay...make sure you try the garlic noodles with beef or shrimp...The beef is so tender and amazing, and shrimp is cooked perfectly, no rubber shrimpery at all... Ever! And there is no bad juju here at all ever with the hostesses, servers, chefs, this whole place is just 100%! I grew up in Little Saigon, OC (represent!!), And I got to tell you this is one of the most beautiful gems I have ever found! Starfish serves a variety of food, from home cooked food you would get at your moms house, street food, or bar food. The service was friendly, but a little slow because they were understaffed. We enjoyed all of our fish except for the sate squid which over burnt and dry. We honestly didn’t taste anything sate about it. The catfish was excellent, fresh and crispy. My only gripe is the peanut was something you get in a packaged and not freshly made, and the stinky sauce was kind of bland. The razor clam is excellent better than oc and lau by a good margin. This is the best Vietnamese Restaurant around the OC. Seriously, everything I've eaten here has been delicious and fresh. I can't say enough about their Tamarind Fish Soup and their Catfish in Claypot. Also their soda xi moui is my go to drink. I will eventually explore their fresh seafood boils, but I go there for comfort food. Go here, you will not be remotely dissatisfied. 10 stars, keep up...
