THH Sandwiches — Restaurant in Fountain Valley

How can you tell if this place is good? When Lee's sandwich (competition) employee tells me that this is the best place for the Vietnamese sandwich I have to try this place out. Surely, their sandwich is off the hook. Their bread is soft and you have an option to put a fried egg on your sandwich. After you get used to this type of v-sandwich you start to believe that this is the only way to eat the v-sandwich. Here is the some fun fact about this place. I went to this place with my co workers and we bought a soy juice in a container. I asked for a cup.. the lady thought for 2 seconds and ask for quarter. Soon my co worker asks for the water, the lady also gave that 2 seconds then ask for 50 cents. I noticed that they didn't charge any tax for sandwich, so I asked for pricing for other product. The lady gave that 2 seconds. then call out a quarter. Haha. I can definitely tell she's making up numbers. I thought it was funny. ...

I was unfamiliar with this place so I got the grilled pork sandwich, as it is listed under "Signature Sandwiches". Also got some spring rolls.

The sandwich was meh. I've had much better banh mi. Lee's is better, as is Carrot and Daikon (my fav). I wish the pork and the bread were warm. I didn't really enjoy the way the pork was seasoned, but this might just be my personal preference. The veggies were crisp and tasted good though.

The spring rolls were amazing. Tasted really fresh and the dipping sauce complimented them well.

The atmosphere was not the greatest. Staff was pleasant but it smelled pretty bad in the restaurant, I don't know how to describe it. Not exactly appetizing.

The prices were fair. Though, I didn't like getting charged an extra dollar just to use my card. It's 2024, most people are going to pay with a card.

4/20/25: Bánh Mì now $6:35. URG!! after 2yrs ago with POOR review, I decided to try again, how they survive. URG, still the same poor, rip-off services and products. Despite confirming orders with receipts, even the the preparer, they screwed the orders. We didn't find out till we get home. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE JOINT. 2023: They skimmed on the fillings in bánh mì, no patê, less chả, the bbq pork no longer seasoned correctly, sôi spoiled after a day despite refrigerated. We saw others inspected their orders before leaving the joint, we should hv done the same. Despite, still a round line to the door. $6 each bánh mì, $1 fee for less $20 cc charge. time to find...
