Our cross-country national parks adventure brought us to Fountain, Colorado, today—a delightful detour to explore the stunning Pikes Peak region and treat our pup Lola to some professional grooming. With Lola getting pampered at a nearby groomer, we discovered a hidden gem that would make any New Yorker's heart sing.

Tucked away at 115 S. Main Street, "Sliced, Bagels and More" proved to be an unexpected treasure. What sets this Colorado spot apart? They fly in their bagels fresh from New York City—a detail that immediately caught my attention as a former Manhattan resident who knows the difference between authentic NYC bagels and pale imitations.

I ordered the O'Dell breakfast sandwich, built on a perfectly chewy everything bagel and loaded with cheddar cheese, sausage, bacon, pickled jalapeños, crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy mayo. Paired with a steaming cup of black coffee, it transported me straight back to the bustling breakfast spots of the city.

The cozy atmosphere wrapped around us like a warm embrace, while the genuinely friendly staff made us feel like longtime locals rather than passing travelers. In a small Colorado town, finding such an authentic taste of New York was both surprising and deeply satisfying. "Sliced" isn't just serving food—they're delivering a genuine experience that honors the craft of a true NYC bagel. This place has earned its reputation as...

Very happy with every aspect of the business. The staff were incredibly friendly and outgoing. The food was great and the bagels were amazing. I'm originally from New Jersey and grew up eating bagels everywhere, from breakfast sandwiches to lunch sandwiches down to a simple buttered bagel. It is all I knew. So, I can confidently say the bagels are up there with some of the best I have ever eaten. The sandwich I ordered was "The Puerto Rican", so not only am I from New Jersey but I am also Puerto Rican. This sandwich was delicious I was extremely happy with everything from, the service, food, and the very quaint atmosphere I was 100% satisfied and would absolutely recommend this place as a must go for anyone looking for something to eat in the Fountain area. It will fill you up for sure, but not in a bad way. I was full for hours after, but I never felt...

This place is a 10/10! I've been several times, at different points during the day, and the food is always consistently delicious. Most bagel places skimp on the ingredients, but not this place! One of my favorites is the lox bagel sandwich with capers. Also, they have a simple egg and bacon bagel sandwich that's to die for. The bagels themselves are also unique in the sense that they are true east coast bagels. I love how the storefront is set up, there's plenty of sitting areas and a cute little room in the front of the store that plays on the building's history as the former post office. It's the perfect place to take a toddler after going to one of the surrounding parks in the area. This part of town, Fountain, has a ton of history and is a hidden gold mine for the right business. This place is easily the best bagel spot in Colorado Springs, not...
