When you see the facade and even the colorful menu full of discounted prices, you expect a nostalgic western experience with delicious food and smiling faces. Unfortunately, this isn't what you'll get here, so please, don't come here especially if you aren't an English speaker.
I went to treat my wife and was immediately told that I'm the last customer for the night even though I came with an hour and a half left before they closed. I was escorted to a small booth next to some rambunctious kids celebrating a birthday and father's day. They seemed to have had a great time.
Without seeing a menu, we ordered our drinks, and then we chose some fried mushrooms and thought about steak. Naturally, seeing prime rib and ribeyes sold out caused a concern, but we thought a sirloin steak would be a good choice. Unfortunately, we confirmed with our server that it was a steak and not hamburger. The steak finally came out and was not rare nor steak, but it was a lump of hamburger.
My server politely offered to ask the kitchen to remake it so it's rare or an actual steak; however, a much ruder, old southern woman came out and said there's really nothing to do but we could get a desert. I was distraught with how aggressive this red head was even as I explained that both of us asked if it was a steak before ordering and having explained that my wife is an esl speaker. Unfortunately, after requesting a manager, I received a harsher experience, was told that nothing will be refunded and that it's my fault because I should know the semantics of the word ground. I was forced to pay a bill, could not see the actual total, and was told that the alternative was to have the police come as they won't lose money remaking food.
I've never had an experience when a server even agrees that the food was made poorly, but this location even started that both this server is actually a bartender covering for someone and doesn't know anything, and that it doesn't matter what we think about steak because the owner has 20 years of steak experience. How can a business ignore a customer's concern this much and be so forceful and intrusive especially on a holiday?
Don't come here and be forced to pay. Don't come here and be discriminated against. Don't come here and eat mushrooms that aren't seasoned. Don't come here and expect customer service and a good evening because this restaurant's depiction of a western meal is an awful attitude that you've just got to cowboy up and get out if you hate it.
Even as someone who's gone to rural bars and restaurants, I haven't seen someone this rude. Please don't come here because...
Read moreThe food was exceptional and the prince was not bad at all for how much food we got. The service is where they fell flat. The hostess very much made us feel rushed in our order and once the food was delivered to the table we didn't see her again until we were done eating, no drink refills offered until the food was gone. Will definitely give it another try and just hope today was an off day for service. The food warrants another try.
Went and gave it another try today for lunch. Service was the polar opposite of last time. Checked up on us regularly, brought new drinks without us needing to ask, and respected our wish to be socially distanced. The bread rolls were fresh and soft. The breaded zucchini was fantastic and the batter had amazing flavor! easily their second best appetizer! The mozzarella sticks were a little disappointing as the batter was flavorless. The fried shrimp was 50/50, the shrimp itself was amazing but again the batter had no real flavor. The batter dipped mushrooms were also a 50/50 as the mushrooms tasted fantastic but the batter was lacking. The chicken strips were very tender and juicy but once more the batter disappointed. The onion rings... THE ONION RINGS!!! The onion rings are their best appetizer by far! Phenomenal tasting onions and the batter is perfect! Amazing texture and the flavor accentuates the onions flavor. My buddy had the Green Chilli Jack Burger last time and it was cooked perfectly with lovely flavor, this time he had the Deluxe Burger which was over cooked pretty badly but the fries were on point both times. My first visit I had the House Special Chicken Fried Steak and it was perfection! Amazing texture, flavor was mind blowing, the batter added to the flavor of the steak, and the gravy was the coupe de grace. The mashed potatoes and hot veggie were also amazing. The second visit I had the Texan T-Bone and again it was cooked perfectly to order and the seasoning was done with a practiced hand, it very much enhanced the flavor of the steak rather than overpowering it. The Ranch Beans were also cooked perfectly but were lacking on seasoning just a bit. Overall Cattletown is very good bang for your buck with quantity/quality of food vs...
Read moreThis was my first impression and was not favorable what so ever. I ordered a diet rc and drank the glass down to half a glass (because I was very thirsty)only to discover that it was not Diet. I am a type 1 diabetic so I brought this to the attention of my server immediately. My glucose went up over 300. I ordered baked fish with shrimp scampi. I opted to pay extra for the 6 count of the shrimp. Our salads never arrived. My entire order was incorrect. The fish came to table fried instead of baked and the shrimp came 4 count when it should have come 6 count. There was an attempt to correct this only to be given under cooked fish and shrimp. I was trying to get my bill for over 20 minutes. Finally we went up to front only to find a huge line so I used restroom and came out to pay bill. There was 3 servers at the door as if I was trying to leave. Which I was not. I tried sharing my concerns with the daughter of the owners. I did not know that was who she was at first. She was very rude and stated that we got well over what we were charged for. I disagree. This statement is false. We never got what we ordered cooked and to standard. If that was an indication of the service from one of the owners children then I see now why there is zero accountability. Lead by example not by privilage. If any of my employees ever spoke to my patron the way 0this daughter of the owner did I would fire them on the spot. I was told very harshly to settle down. I never needed that. I was being completely respectful. The server that served us was trying to make things right while the daughter of owner did nothing but talk harshly about a fellow employee and about me the customer. I will never eat at this place again and I will ensure to remind all my family and fellow vets of the lack of respect and zero leadership provided. I highly recommend that the owners have a one on one with...
