My husband and I decided to try this place instead of going to the Mine Shaft, and I wish we hadn’t. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we weren’t welcome simply because we weren’t locals. While my husband stepped out to the car, the server came by for a drink order and gave me a look like I was completely out of place. He took the order, then disappeared for a smoke break… not off in the distance, but literally about fifteen feet from where we were sitting. The smell carried right over to us, and it was incredibly inconsiderate.

After we sat there waiting, a lady finally came up and took our food order… otherwise, who knows how long we would’ve been ignored. The original server never once checked on us or asked how the food was. When it was time to pay, he was back outside smoking again with two other servers, and my husband had to go ask around just to get the bill.

In a small town, you’d hope for warmth and hospitality, but what we got was the exact opposite: indifference, unprofessionalism, and the clear sense that outsiders don’t...

The restaurant could use a little tlc. It's a renovated building which is fine and that gives it it's charm, but the booths were dirty and tables were sticky. They also kept a window open to the kitchen and it let in an inordinate amount of flies. If I were eating outside, I would expect that, but not when I'm eating inside. The menu selections were great though. My husband got the burrito bowl with grilled chicken and I got the enchilada stacker bowl with chicken. His tasted far better than mine, but both were good. We had to wait a long time for our ticket. Seating inside was empty and only two table outside were occupied. But I think there was only one server at the time so that can make things...

This place really upset me with the food the staff and everything all around. This place used to be my go to place when I went to Madrid. The restaurant that was here before was 5 out of 5 star's. If I could give this place less then 1 star's I would. I used to hate going across the street because of the price for being a tourist attraction, But sadly I would rather go there and pay the extra money for there food. The menu here was very very disappointing. Only sandwich's and finger food's. Not impressive at all. Go across the street if you want better food. You will pay a lot more but, sadly it's worth it. Wish The old place was still here. This Place will not last if they don't change a a lot...

We took a short drive south of Santa Fe to Madrid. The food at the Refinery 14 was amazing! Not pub food, but an actual chef inspired menu. Just an example of the eclectic art community there. Started as a mining community years ago, today Madrid has become an artist community with galleries lining the New Mexico State Road 14, part of the Turquoise Trail. Also known for the ending of the 2007 film “Wild Hogs”, set and filmed in the town. Dog friendly also!

You have to stop in and enjoy this amazing place - their brunch was beyond amazing. We got the biscuits and gravy + added 2 over easy eggs, as well as the loaded loxs. They had wonderful live music and a cute shaded patio! There was open seating / no wait on the weekend, food was out quick, and our server was super sweet to top it all off. Wish we lived closer so we could come back sooner!
