The aroma just from the parking lot will have your mouth watering! The very expertly laid out rustic decor will take you back to a simpler time & help you relax into the atmosphere & the display case of freshly cut steaks so professionally cut will keep you there. From the very first friendly greeting offered by the hostess to the welcoming hello of the bussers to the super helpful wait staff offering suggestions for drinks & appetizers you will feel like you're in great-grandmas kitchen. The most pleasant Samantha was our server and we took her very knowledgeable suggestions for Spicy Prickly Pear Margaritas to start and followed that with the most delicate, flavorful onion rings ! The Margarita didn't disappoint & was full of fresh flavor butcwas not overwhelmingly spicy. The entree, which by the way can be split, I had to try the Filet Mignon with a side of a full half of a grilled chicken! The chicken was juicey and grilled to perfection and it was accompanied by a sweet & smoky BBQ sauce. The Filet was wrapped in hardwood smoked bacon & of course, mouthwatering! No need for condiments here ! A fresh salad & baked potato, I ordered mine basic but feel free to try the loaded, and fresh green salad completed the meal selection. There was plenty left to take home only because I ordered enough to feed a football team, lol. They do offer desserts but I was stuffed & had to pass on. Samantha, our server never made us feel hurried but frequently checked to make sure we had what we needed and kept our water glasses full & table clean. I will most definitely be back to this amazing place...if I can muster up the appetite I'll go today, lol. Definitely give this place a try & the very scenic drive makes the experience that much more enjoyable!

Spent the weekend with my girlfriend in Sonoita. Our accommodations were next door at the Sonoita Inn and steak sounded good to both of us. I hadn’t been back to The Steak Out since 2005, but my recollection is that it was quite expensive. And I can confirm that indeed, it is still the case. The atmosphere is pleasant. A low-light setting. Some fellow playing country tunes on his guitar. My girlfriend ordered the Ribeye cooked rare. I had the T-Bone, medium rare. Mine was cooked to perfection, tender and delicious. She confided that hers was rather sinewy and tough. I had two glasses of the house cab; she had a cocktail. Bill total came to $110.77. Add tip for a grand total of $132 or $66 per person. The hostesses were great, service was less than: a bit slow, not very engaging and seemed disinterested. My recommendation — if you’re gonna drop that kinda coin on steaks, don’t waste your money on a steak you’re gonna be disappointed with — just go ahead and get the Filet Mignon. It’s as thick or thicker than the filet portion of the Porterhouse, and certainly much thicker, larger than that of the T-Bone and it’s all “knife through butter” tenderness.

This my second time visiting The Steak Out, last year and now 2018. My friends and I went to a Wine Festival. After the festival we headed to the Steak Out since we were staying at the Sonoita Inn, right next door. Food has been excellent! Second time ordering their burger and they cook it to perfection! 👌 I asked for Medium and got it just like I ordered it. After our dinner we moved to their pool tables area. We're about 6 girls total, ready to drink and have a good time. 🍻 Disappointed for the second time with our bar service. They would take forever to turn around and ask us if we needed more drinks. We would have to stand at the bar trying to get the bartender's attention. Not sure if they understood that we were there to drink! Since we didn't have to drive back to our hotel, we were ready for a long night. The more drinks, the better the tip! Right?!? Too bad, we ended up closing our tab and head back to the hotel where we had some beers and wine. I'm sure we'll give it a try next year. Food...amazing!! Service at the bar...so so!

Been to this place more times than I can remember. Had a wedding reception, multiple business meetings and we bring our out of town friends for dinner to this place every time. Today we ordered 2 ribeyes and only one came out. The other was a new York strip or Chuck eye. I mentioned it to the waitress right away and showed her the 2 dishes and the differences and she said, "yeah, it does look alot smaller than the other one". The waitress was nice in the beginning but she did not listen to my concern which I mentioned twice. I ate my meal anyways because I was STUCK with it. I did not enjoy my dinner at all. It was not the experience that we always have had here. We live 1 hour from the Texas road house and 1 hour from the steak out. We pick the Steak Out because it isn't a big commercial restaurant. It feels more family ran which we like. When I go to the Steak Out I almost always have a Ribeye dinner with a glass or 2 of Dos cabezas cab. I would give this place a 5 star because it always has been a good service and good food but today it fell very short.

This rating is due to me being ignored of my concern after I mentioned it twice. I am a customer and not a first time customer that wants a discount. As mentioned above we have been here multiple times for many, many, many years. We are not first time customers. Being a Sunday i wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with my family. My dinner felt like a forced dinner and I felt lied to. I know what a ribeye tastes like and looks like. Mine had a chewy , tough, grainy taste and it cut tough like a chuck eye or new York steak. My daughter's rib eye looked great and it was a real ribeye. I wish i wouldve taken pictures but to be honest i just wanted to have this dinner end as soon as possible. I felt like i was forced to eat this piece of meat that was not what i ordered. I know it wasn't a ribeye and i was forced to keep it. If they would've just been honest and said we are out of ribeyes I would've ordered the BBQ ribs which i like as well and are very delicious and been happy with that. But when you know what you were served isn't what you ordered and forced to eat it, it literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I should've asked for a manager but again, we were there with a friend and didn't want to be that table that makes a fuss. I did tell the waitress twice and was ignored. So here we are. I'm sure we will be here again because we love the place but please don't lie to your customers. I will edit this review as soon as we have a chance to speak to speak with someone about our experience. My review isn't here to cause damage. It's the last thing I want to do but if my concern was ignored by your waitress then here it will not be ignored...

I brought my family here after visiting one of the local vineyards. It began alright, as the young man who greeted us was amiable. We were promptly seated near a window. The young man brought us waters to begin. We then waited upwards of 10 minutes to be waited upon. I was literally getting up to go ask for the owner/manager when our rude and unaccommodating waitress came by. She asked, "You all ready?". That was her greeting. I said, "Yes, we've been ready for a while" to which she replied, "Well, I had to get salads." Oh? You had to get salads for over 10 minutes!? Oh my, those must have been some salads, huh? Sheesh. Then, she proceeded to make what would have been an alright experience horrible. She spilled "ranch dressing" (which was so watered down that you could no longer tell it was ranch) all over my niece's food when she brought it over. She said, "Sorry I spilled ranch on that." But never offered to make it right. My niece doesn't like ranch dressing on anything, so that was another demerit. Finally, the food was only slightly better than awful. The BBQ sandwich was dry and had very little BBQ sauce in it. Their "french fries" were deep fried potato wedges, which would have been okay, except that they use rotten potatoes to make them, as evidenced by the numerous (and by numerous, I mean upwards of 50% of my fries had them) black spots in the potatoes. My niece's chicken nuggets were burnt and tasted horrible. At first I thought she was being picky until I tried one. Atrocious.

This is all really unfortunate, as my wife and I stopped by this restaurant nearly ten years ago before we were married, and we thought it was good. It has obviously taken a turn for...
