I was REALLY excited to try this little diner out after reading sooo many reviews singing its praises on high. It is described as a country-cooking diner which is what sold me on making the 35 min drive to eat here. I was raised on home-cooking by my grandmother who will always be THE best country cook in my book. I was hopeful this food would be a close second to the meals I had grown up on. Reading the menu & the specials board left me disappointed, from the very few selections of true country entrees to the lack of actual “country cooking” sides. The only country sides imo were mashed potatoes, green beans & fried okra. Hushpuppies & fries were also listed on the “country sides” menu, but are really just fast food. The other “country” sides were things you could get out of a tub, can or jar (potato salad, slaw, applesauce, beets). I chose what I thought would be the closest to country-cooking offered that night: fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy & fried okra. The fried chicken was ok…tasted exactly like the breaded chicken you get at Smithfield’s Chicken & Biscuits. The mashed potatoes were INSTANT…I’ve never eaten anywhere that serves it’s patrons potatoes from a box. That is downright shameful. The okra was the average heavily breaded frozen okra. I was hopeful that maybe the desserts were actually made by the restaurant, or maybe they hired someone to make all their desserts from scratch. Sadly, the waitress admitted the desserts are all store bought. This experience was an all around huge disappointment. I love to support small hometown restaurants & the little hole in the wall Mom & Pop places are usually the best foodie places, but this food left a lot to be desired. The only thing I can recommend here is...
Read moreStooped in around lunch time while running errands. They use instant potatoes,Chicken kinda tasteless, onion rings were soggy, hush puppies a bit over cooked. Fry’s were okay. Dining room old and not very clean. We wouldn’t have noticed that had the food been better. Restrooms like in a gas station with one sink out in the hall. Had to wait 18 minutes for chicken because we were told they cook to order on certain days. On busy days they cook a bunch then drop it back in the oil to warm it. That’s a little scary. I wanted meatloaf but waitress said they don’t make it often so she didn’t know if they had any in the kitchen ( also scary) Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Even brought us fry’s to eat while waiting for the chicken. It’s worth another try. We like to support local businesses. We’ll go back and try something else on a different day. Looks like it might be a good place for a lunch for someone working but definitely not a date night if you want to impress your girl. Total was $22.12 plus $4 tip. Free Drink...

This little diner is in a quaint little town, somewhat off the beaten path. But my wife and I needed some breakfast and did not want to go to some chain. I mean c'mon, we're in the South! So she did her thing and found a great little southern diner.
The biscuits were great, the tea was sweet, and Jasmyne our server was fantastic.
I had a vege omelette (not a typical thing for a little southern diner, I'm sure) but they made it fantastic. Peppers, onions, cheese! But the grits... Oh the grits🔥🔥🔥!
It's a little tight in the dining room to the right. But they were very busy.
So yes I would recommend this little diner if you're in the area.
Again I...
