The management team at this Highway 55 should really have a talk with their waitstaff about discussing tips loud enough that customers can hear as they walk by. Me and my family walked in as a party of 7 and were seated at two tables put together. Ordered our food and it came out fairly quick, I understand we had a bigger party and it was an event night at the school so I figured we may have to wait. Only once we’re we approached inquiring about refills throughout our meal and most of our cups were empty when she finally did come around. As we finished eating and prepared to leave, I went up to pay our bill that was $52 and some change. I left a 35% tip that was a whole lot more than she earned, however we had a bigger party and it was a busy night. As we were getting ready to leave, we walked past the register and overheard our waitress ask another waitress if her tips had been as “sh*tty” as hers had been. I consider an almost $20 tip to be fairly decent when you only stopped to check on us once in the 30 minutes that we were there. The place was a disaster, not only was the counter ALL sticky and dirty, but so were the 2 tables for 6 ( or 8?) a table for 4 and 2 booths...I totally understand they were busy, but come on how many times do u walk by and not notice!?!?! It seemed as though some of the waitress’s were reletively new, and I understand that too! But when the cook/manager and fry cook werent busy, they stood there talking instead of o maybe emptying the overflowing garbage i was looking at behind the counter? Or putting the two boxes of food (my guess was steaks for wthe philly teak and cheese) back in the freezer?! Read moreOrdered through their app, selected no cheese. Drove 20 minutes there, online receipt said no cheese. Drove home and guess what, cheese on both burgers. I called and was told the app doesn’t show much on the restaurant’s end and I can buy new burgers. I explained I already paid for burgers that were wrong. I also requested fresh fries now and was told no because I drove home, which made no sense. I’m spending extra gas money because of their mistake and they can’t remake fries? In the end everything was remade but after frustration on both sides. Just CHECK YOUR take out orders BEFORE you leave to save both parties time and aggravation. Until this incident I would have given them a 5 star because I’ve never had any issues dining in or take out. Hwy 55, work for a higher rating.
