Niemuth's Southside Market — Restaurant in Fox Crossing

Been a bit frustrated lately with Neimuth's lately. Young guy on staff has been difficult when choosing cuts of meat. Bought 3 pounds of Scottish Salmon and instead of pulling similar size cuts, he pulled from what was under the glass and said "I have to sell this first." It was 12:30 on a Thursday, Salmon had just come in. Seems nit picky, but it's a pain in the arse to cook salmon when the cuts are significantly different in size.

My bigger issue is buying ground beef on several occasions. Beef is brown and they couldn't tell me when it was ground. I get whole muscle cuts are good for many days after cutting, but ground beef isn't. Again when I asked for fresh beef, I was told, we have to sell whats under the glass first. I left without a purchase.

I spend several hundred dollars each month with Neimuth's. If their standards don't improve, I'll be switching my business elsewhere. I get they are a small business, but I'm not willing to get my family sick because they have to sell the beef that's been sitting...

Great food and beer selection. Unfortunately, customer service needs some fine tuning. I was over an hour away and called on a specialty beer. They placed my name on one of the remaining bottles because I was driving from out of town. Awesome. When I arrived, the woman behind the counter said I had to buy 2 four packs of the same brewery's other beers to have access to the specialty beer. This was not communicated by the first person I spoke to. The girl behind the counter realized the situation was not ok and went to speak with the manager. He stood behind their awful policy. Liquor store or meat market? I think more liquor store. Bought some prepared foods, white chicken chili and texas baked beans, neither of which was as good as hoped, and a little pricey for what they were. The chili was watery and the beans had a weird taste i couldn't identify, and were also watery. I've bought other meat items from neimuths before and think you can do better at other meat/butcher shops. I also find the liquor store feeling uncomfortable. I know it's Wisconsin and wanton drunkenness is acceptable, but the liquor store makes the other section of the store feel seamy. The proprietors seem nice and very helpful, but I dont like the...
