Where is the best local restaurant? My husband and I went on a search to find the best restaurant in the local area. During the pandemic it was important for us to support local businesses, and with a diligent search we found Conradâs Restaurant located in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Conradâs is a family owned neighborhood restaurant with a great bar, tons of entertainment and variety of menu options. Whether you want a quick drink at the bar or a quite dinner Conradâs is the perfect place. We found the atmosphere, menu and service made it a perfect place for a date night close to home.
As we entered Conradâs we were greeted by a friendly hostess with a warm smile. We had no wait time and were offered a seat immediately as we entered. The atmosphere felt upbeat and pleasant. As we were seated, I noticed everything looked new and freshly updated. There were many different types of setting including booth, bar, and high top tables. We decided to sit at a booth, which was nestled in a quiet corner. Each booth came with an individual flat screen with a controller located on the wall, so you could personally watch what you liked. The lighting was a perfect mixture of brightness yet with a calming feel. There was a large bar located in the middle of the restaurant with plenty of flat screens around, perfect for you to watch a sports game. Towards the end of the night, a large group of teenagers come in and the noise level did rise but it wasnât bothersome at any means.
The menu at Conradâs has many different options, for even the pickiest eaters. First the menu has a vast variety, including salads, steaks, fish, sandwiches, calzones and pizza. The menu also includes a unique drink and beer selection. For an appetizer we tried a cup of homemade clam chowder. A New England classic, the chowder was thick and creamy with the perfect combination of clams and potatoes. Conradâs is famous for their marinated steak tips, so both my husband and I chose to order the steak tips, which were cooked to perfection. The tips were juicy, tender and loaded with a BBQ tangy flavor. I would have to say these were the best steak tips we have ever eaten. For sides we opted for the mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy with butter and chives. The broccoli was steamed and melted in your mouth. For drinks I tried the Strawberry Basil Cosmo it was sweet but not over whelming. When ordering, I thought adding basil to a drink was unique and surprisingly it was delicious. Overall the menu at Conradâs was both versatile and innovative which would definitely make me come back and try more.
Lastly, the service at Conradâs was impeccable. From the moment we walked in, we felt nothing but welcomed. Our server suggested a few different options on the menu for us to try, which was great for us, since it was the first time we were there. Even during the peak dinner rush, our food arrived quickly. Our waiter was available whenever we needed him, and even refilled our drinks without us asking. The service alone is one of the main reasons I would recommend Conradâs.
All and all, the warm atmosphere, variety of the menu and great service is why I would recommend Conradâs as great local restaurant. On our next visit I hope to try their pizza, as I saw many customers ordering while I was there. Weather you bring a date, your family, a friend Conradâs is a great place to eat. Conradâs is a great local restaurant that I would recommend to anyone wanting to try...
Read moreThis was our first visit to Conrad's in Foxboro, we had heard good things about it so we went on a Saturday night. Let's just say what started out good, went bad soon enough. We arrived around 5:30pm, the parking lot looked pretty full and there were people waiting outside so we figured there would be a wait. We walked in, it looked busy but not too busy and surprisingly we were immediately sat at a booth in the room to the left. As soon as we sat I knew why these tables/booths were available. This area was very loud from all the families with kids. At the booths in this area have TV. I find this unnecessary and a little distracting. A young girl came over and took our drink order. About 5 minutes later she returned with our drinks and ready to take our order. There are several decent options on the menu, so we both actually decided on the combo plate, steak tips and chicken (teriyaki). Now it says on their menu that their steak tips are "famous"... in my opinion, there is nothing "famous" about them. They are ok, but the teriyaki chicken was HORRIBLE!! Mine tasted like it had some kind of cleaning fluid on it, and my wife's didn't taste much better either. I thought maybe more teriyaki sauce would help but the waitress never came back to ask if we needed anything. As for the 2 side dishes, the baked potato was good but the broccoli wasn't cooked to my liking. I asked for the broccoli to be steamed or cooked well so it wouldn't be crunchy, and I got crunchy. My wife's green beans weren't bad. When the waitress finally came over and saw we hadn't eaten much of the chicken, she asked if we wanted take home boxes, we said no and told her the chicken didn't taste right, she said sorry and she'd let the manager know. Not 2 minutes later she was back with the check, nothing taken off the bill, no visit from the manager to apologize. We regularly go out to dinner on Saturday nights and we like to try new places and add them to our list of places to return to for another date night dinner, however, Conrad's won't be...
Read moreSecond time in 2 months trying out the Foxboro location. The first time service was awful and food was sub par. Chocked it up to restaurant being busy and the fact that our waitress seemed to still be new as she mentioned she was still getting the hang of everything. It took almost a 1/2 hour to get drinks and almost an hour just for food. Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was busy. Went back again tonight. It was not busy inside the restaurant at all. There was no hostess so we had to seat ourselves despite the sign reading âplease wait to be seatedâ. We waited almost 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged by the waitstaff. We put in a drink and appetizer order. Drinks came. Half hour went by. No wait staff came back over and no appetizer arrived. Finally had to seek out our waiter who said âoh I put that order in a long time ago I should check on itâ??!!! Really??? We then watched as he proceeded to fill drinks, go to one of the registers, go outside, come back in for more drinks, then carry out food to another table and watched as he walked by us without even saying a word about our food!!! He never even came back to tell us the status of the appetizer! We had already been there almost an hour! Ridiculous! We asked someone answering the phones if we could speak to a manager. They said âok sure if we can find themâ. What??! Where is the floor manager? The front of house manager??!! We paid for drinks and left. On the way out a guy asked another how long they had been waiting to be seated....he said â15 minutesâ. I am not sure why this location is so horrible. Walpole isnât much better. The only one that seems to run efficiently is Norwood. I was willing to give Foxboro another try but never again. Just such poor,...
