Read moreWith all of the glowing reviews and high ratings I was expecting much better, but overall left disappointed and don’t understand how it’s rated so high.
First, going off the avg price/person I was expecting a nicer sit down restaurant (I should have looked at photos of the place). This place does have a small amount of tables but it is geared for takeout. Food is served in takeout containers and you order/pay at the front. Also note, there is no tap water, only bottled water for purchase.
I tried Chicken 65 and it was nothing like I’ve had before. I am not from India so can’t claim it’s not authentic, but every Chicken 65 I’ve had is more of a dry rub without sauce. This came in a curry sauce and it had some spice but also a hint of sweetness which was strange for the dish. It was okay, but not Chicken 65.
I did not like the Veg Pulao. It came with bell peppers which I’ve never had in pulao before and they tasted almost raw. I felt the corn also didn’t go well with it. Hard to describe, but it tasted off and not very flavorful. Not like other pulao I've had.
I ordered Baingan ka Bhartha, but unfortunately was served the wrong dish. Given the other dishes we had, I wasn’t sure if it was just a different version but I looked at the menu after I got home and I believe I was given Veg Keema Masala. This dish was okay but nothing special. I wasn’t a fan of the peas in it.
Garlic naan was good. There is also a dispenser of complimentary Chai (tea) which I enjoyed and tasted good.
Given the price, mediocre food and issues we had, I don’t plan...
Read moreOur group of 10 had a fantastic experience dining here. I had requested to make a reservation a couple days before our planned dinner and Jaspreet and his team did a fantastic job of catering us to an ultimate meal with top level hospitality. He and his team recommended some vegetarian dishes to us including the beetroot kebabs and traditional butter naan. The butter naan is the best I’ve ever had and is one of their specialties which has been mastered by their chef per Jaspreet. Our entire meal including the veg samosas, cauliflower manchurian, paneer 65, hara bhara kebabs, malai kofta, dal makhni, paneer butter masala, mutter paneer, butter naan, garlic naan, aloo kulcha, stuffed kulcha and gajar halwa were truly incredible. The food is so rich and flavorful. The hospitality they treated us with elevated our experience to a whole new level. This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Massachusetts and I highly recommend it to everyone. Jaspreet also runs the Indian Food & Spices grocery store in the same strip mall plaza. They have incredible Indian chaat items including veg samosas, chaat papdi, vada pav, veggie burger and some items that overlap with the menu at Rasoi. Spice levels can be customized. Between both places Jaspreet has you covered depending on what you’re craving. Can’t wait to go back and try more...
