IHOP — Restaurant in Framingham

The food was fresh. The manager was super sweet, and also some of the other staff. They have one waitress there that is a disaster, I did not get her name... But believe me I will never sit in her section again. I recently visited the Framingham location this Sunday 12/3/22 around 8 am. Upon arrival I waited about 10 minutes to be seated, which was no problem. I do understand that businesses are overloaded and the workers are under worked. While being seated, I stopped the waitress and told her that I did not like this seat and wanted to be seated in close to the window to get some sunshine. The reason being is that I had just gotten off a 16 hour shift at a local nursing home and I wanted some sun. The waitress proceeded to tell me that I could not sit there, and if I did it would take me about 1 hour to get food. I would have to wait because no one could wait on me in that area. I asked her why, because I should have a choice as to wear I want to sit. I again told her that I did not want to sit there and she told me that this was the only place I could sit. I sat down, never mind I was highly upset. I ordered my food. While waiting, I observed two elderly persons enter the building, they seemed to be of fairer complexion than me. The waiter attempted to sit them next to me on my left side, and the lady stated that she did not want to sit there. She wanted to sit in a better lit area. The waiter said no problem, and proceeded to sit them on my right side, where the sun was shining. I could not believe this. I thought my mind was playing tricks on me. How is it that one person doesn't have a choice and the other has one. It should be that all paying customers are...

My Fiancee and I left the NE Wedding venue at the Royal Crown Plaza in Newton. Upon our return home we decided to go to one of our special places, Ihop!!!

This particular restaurant has 0lenty of parking, handicapped parking right by the front entrance, very convenient. As we entered the establishment was clean, the mens bathroom was also spotless. We were quickly seated.

Things quickly did not feel right. It did not look understaffed on a Sunday evening but our waitress took forever to take our order. The restaurant was at quarter capacity. We ordered our drinks coffee and juice. The waitress came with only one coffee mug. I asked my girl if she wanted coffee, she said no, it's ok. Again it took time to order the food. Finally the food arrived, my order was right but I noticed the potatoes a little undercooked and my Fiances wheat toast was burnt, hard and very little butter. This has happened at other Ihops. They are skimpy with the butter and/ or the butter is hard.

We again waited a long time to pay for our meal and while we waited we overheard a conversation between our waitress and another waitress talking about personal problems and other staff members.

We finally paid and we left.

This Restaurant needs serious customer relations Training or a refresher course. The customer should not have to wait. Interact with the customer, introduce yourself and offer help if needed. Don't abandon them.

We gave this store 2 stars. We will return to see if...

Usually nice to go to when nobody else is open. My last visit about two nights ago went like this: 11:10PM- We get into the lobby (practically dead inside, almost no customers) 11:25PM- We are told to sit at a table, I ask for a different seat since they had place us in the middle of the restaurant, and we had wanted somewhere quiet. The lady says “It would be better if we sat you down here” (I don’t see how, so I said no, somewhere quieter please) 11:40PM we JUST get to order drinks, then are given the wrong food menu. We proceed to choose items for the next 15 minutes before we are finally asked if we are ready to order. 11:55PM- Then the waiter takes our menus and says it was the wrong one since it was past a certain hour and told us to choose from a smaller menu. 12AM(ish)- He takes our orders (for real this time) and says the food will be out shortly. 12:30AM (HALF AN HOUR AFTER PLACING THE ORDER) - Waiter comes up with a check for our drinks and says have a goodnight. He realizes he forgot to put our order into the kitchen and says “the food will be out shortly” 12:45AM- my friends have had enough and decide to leave. We left money on the table for the drinks and a small tip, but we’re never going back to this iHOP location.
