I found ProTech Guy online and decided to give them a call because my business laptop wouldn’t boot up. The tech guy, Kyle, came to my home office, picked up my machine and said he would get back to me. Hours later he e-mailed to let me know it was a hard drive failure and he gave me three hard drive options and prices. I e-mailed him back and was undecided about whether I should bag the whole machine (laptop) and just buy a new one. He reassured me that my computer was up-to-date, with a good processor and LED screen. He said it should last for years. He also mentioned that the old hard drive was very slow. It had taken six hours to run the diagnostics on it, where it should have only taken around 45 minutes. He mentioned that with a new hard drive (one that he had recommended) I would have a better, faster experience in just about every computer task. He also said that my machine could take another 2 gb RAM, and he included the price in his e-mail as well. The last thing he mentioned in his e-mail was the fact that for less than $20 he could get me a USB cable that would allow me to tap into my “broken” drive for however long it lasted so that I could recover the files I needed. I okay’d the repair by responding to the e-mail and the machine was back on my desk and I was working by the next night.
I guess what impressed me most about the service from ProTech Guy was the fact that I was not just given the remedy for the problem. I was given options and advice, which I truly appreciated. Kyle even told me how to backup with the Windows 7 operating system and he explained how reliable it was and how to do it. Finally, I was able to recover files from the old drive, my computer is now much faster, and I barely missed a beat in my business.
Recently, I found out that ProTech Guy does set ups for tablets and other electronics, like home monitoring systems. I will definitely call him if I need help in those areas as well. ( not to mention he has an immense amount of patients… LOL). My computer was a mess with viruses and what not… Not only did Kyle fix it but he managed to put on some even better software at what I considered a reasonable/manageable price for a single woman. The project I was working on was due the following morning, and not knowing what to do decided to contact Pro Tech Guy. The minute I got there Kyle put me at ease, not only showed me the part that were broken, but helped me to make a decision. I bought a new computer (on his advice from Best Buy ) he did not tricked me to buy one from him or insisted on it. He was honest and guided me on how to save money.
