My Taco — Restaurant in Frankfort Square

Tonight was the first in a while since we have ordered from here. I have to say I am quite disappointed. I usually have nothing but good things to say about the food, tonight my food wasn't ready yet, and while I waited, the amount of food being thawed and microwaved in the kitchen (possibly in a grocery bag?!?) made me a little nervous. I had the chicken burrito and a corn-in-a-cup(for the first time here). The burrito wasnt too bad, the rice wasn't the best. The corn, first, I truely don't like frozen corn. Second, I'm almost positive there is parmesan cheese on top, which may be okay at home in a pinch, unfortunately I do not expect that to pass as "authentic" at a restaurant. I do not remember this "fast food" quality when the restaurant first opened. Thinking back on the last time my husband ordered from there, he was told that they do not serve the chichuahua cheese, but they use mozzarella which is the same thing. (It is not the same cheese!) Let me start off by saying I don’t play when it comes to Mexican food. I am extra critical when it comes to my beloved tacos. I was very impressed with this place. I’ll admit when I saw their standard taco components contained lettuce and tomatoes I said oh these tacos are about to be trash, but I removed for onions, cilantro and cheese, and the steak tacos were fire. The rice and beans were also very good. Tried the fish taco too, which I was not a fan of, but the steak was cooked to perfection. They also have banana pudding that I would make a trip just for. Absolutely delicious! Very comparable to Magnolias. My only negative comment would be the restaurant had a funny unidentifiable musty smell. Hoping that was just a one off and they maybe need to just change their mop water or bus boy table rag water. I still gave them five stars. My buddy and I came here after finishing work recently, and it seemed like a pretty okay place, they had people going in and it constantly, so they must be a pretty popular place around the area, I didn't order anything this time, but my buddy ordered a torta, and we had been waiting on it for a while, so he went up and asked about it, and the cashier had explained that they hadn't even started making it because they had apparently just forgotten about it, so she gave him a full refund, and we had the sandwich about 10 minutes later, overall we probably had waited 35 or 40 minutes for it, I took half of it because he offered, which is the only reason I'm actually reviewing this location, and it was actually very good, he got it with the pork I believe and it had a nice little char to it, I am probably going to come here again and see if the experience is a little better, and hopefully give it a better rating, because that torta...
