On the way from meeting a seller in Vineland, I realized I haven’t eaten anything all day so I stopped in The Bagel Barn Cafe & Bakery in Franklinville.

This is a cute little place with not much dine-in seating, but from what I can tell from the customers who came in during my visit, they take their orders to go. Still, the decor is inviting and comfortable.

The main reason I wanted to try this particular café was I love a good chicken salad. And other reviews have raved about their’s - Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad. And now I know why. I actually got a small container to take home. I had half for lunch that day and the other half the next day. And I want more! SO, so good!

And, of course, I couldn’t leave without buying bagels and a cup of coffee. I took the bagels home to share with the family. The pumpkin bagel was delicious with its extra seasoning on top. The kids both liked the chocolate chip bagel before school on Wednesday, and my husband liked the cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese. And the coffee hit the spot for my drive home.

The bakery section was minimal, but it was Tuesday morning after Labor Day weekend. Maybe they took a well earned break from baking for the weekend?

Simply put, this a solid place to get coffee and bagel sandwiches in South Jersey. I can’t recommend the Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad...

This place doesn’t even deserve 1 star. There are a bunch of kids working here that don’t know what they’re doing which is okay but there should be someone supervising to make sure things go smoothly while the kids learn. They don’t wear any gloves and touch the food. This is a health concern and not proper handling of food. The freshness of the bagels are terrible. Anyone who says they like them have not had real freshly made bagels because these are not that. They seem processed they don’t seem fresh at all. The amount of cream cheese put on the bagels is almost none existent. We ordered 7 bagels over the phone and when we went to pick it up they charged me for 6 but only gave me 5. So they charged me for a bagel I didn’t receive and forgot to add one I ordered. We stood in the lobby for 5 mins (no one else was there) and weren’t even acknowledged. On top of that I asked for certain bagels over the phone in which I was told they didn’t have and when I arrived they had them. Two of the bagels were swapped out. Half the bagel was everything the other half was cinnamon raisin. Thankfully no one was allergic to cinnamon raisin but it wasn’t a pleasant food to eat. We will not return to this location as this is the second time we have gone and things have...

Ok food , not so great service. I live in Franklinville and like many of us , always welcome somewhere different to instead of a diner or pizza place. I'm pretty disappointed so far. The bagels are ok and not that bad in price, but everything else there is not so good. Went there with family and a baby and they took 35 min to get us are two sandwiches. There is no waitress and just 1 girl behind the counter. This was a lunch time. There was no music so very quiet . When we got our food , they put them in brown bags and have no in restaurant serving trays . They gave us a pickle and bag of chips . Remind me school cafeteria food. No kid sits, so not family friendly. For 20$ plus for just two , not worth it. I had a pigy back burger. It was ok , but I could of made quicker myself and better. Shame , place has potential, but they don't seem to care about customer experience in restaurant . O and if you have water bottles as an option, would suggest something other than cloverhill dollar...

I ordered three breakfast sandwiches, 2 bacon & egg on poppyseed bagels with NO CHEESE. Both were SLATHERED with cheese, and ice cold. I also ordered a side of hash browns, and they looked like they fell on the floor, broke into a million pieces and they just picked it up and put it back in the bag. They were also ice cold. It wasn’t a difficult order, they weren’t busy, if this is “standard” I’m sad. They should order a breakfast sandwich from Sharkeys in Somerdale and take a few notes….next time I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes up that way for breakfast. Lesson learned.

The bagels are among the best you will find in WAY South Jersey. It does get very busy. There has been a line every time I've gone there. It is worth the wait. Just make sure you plan enough time in your schedule. I tried to call to order ahead of time once, but when I got there, they didn't have any record of my order. That was disappointing. But the bagels are so good, I waited for them to take and fill my order anyway. They do have different spreads. Cinnamon butter is a favorite of my son's. I was thrilled to find out they have lox.
