edited to explain in detail the reason for 2 stars
I've been to your restaurant previously in the past and had an enjoyable experience, however in my most recent visit, not so much.
We came in during lunch, the hostess & our server were nice ladies. We were the only ones in the dining area and we were seated along the direct bee-line of foot traffic. (The path was from the hostess desk to the back of the house area). It wasn't really busy, so it wasn't a huge issue. Our server placed a carseat holder on the opposite end of the table, so that our baby would be socially-distanced & closer to the tables against the wall, that was a plus... I thanked her for accommodating our little one, it meant everything to know she understood even in times of a pandemic and still trying to maintain some normalcy.
Another party of 3 or so came in maybe 15 mins after we arrived & were seated in the far corner behind us... At least 3 times, we had someone shimmy past my baby. Although I'm most certain it was accidental, the server bumped and/or brushed against the head of the carseat instead of returning to the direct path on the opposite side of our table.
I would re-adjust the seat each time, rather than having a fit about it. Again, it seemed unintentional, (as no one would blatantly do something like that). However, it defeated the whole purpose of social-distancing & being safely 'out of the way'. This part of the experience alone, took 2 stars away.
Our drinks came, the peach tea was perfect! Kudos! Our calamari arrived along with our bread, good times all around! Then we ordered our entrees, pan-seared salmon with cucumber & tomato salad and a 10oz sirloin (medium to medium-well) with red potatoes.
Of course, I expect the portions to be smaller, but the lemon wedge on top of it was nearly half the size of the salmon. The cucumber & tomato salad tasted unagreeably different. Almost like a chilled, mushy cucumber & tomato soup. I never took another bite of the salad, nor the remoulade. The 10oz sirloin, there was absolutely no pinkness as originally discussed. With that being said, the salmon was great, well-seasoned & cooked to perfection! I couldn't even enjoy the tiramisu after that.
Don't get me wrong, I think Brickyard is a nice place to dine, I've tried something different each time & I've walked out satisfied. As for this last dining experience, while seemingly getting what we asked for, it was not worth over $50 to feel this disappointed. Maybe next...
Read moreFound this place while we were going to another restaurant just by chance. Right off the square in Franklin Kentucky it's a short drive from anywhere in Sumner or Robertson county. Or if you're in Nashville it still isn't that bad of a drive. The atmosphere is relaxing and very rustic. The service staff is second to none and the prices for the quality of the food in my opinion are very reasonable. Which brings me to the food. I had the lasagna which is prepared with an in house marinera sauce which is fabulous. It's just the right balance of sweetness and robust tomato flavor. The cheese blend for the dish is their own and it again is wonderfully crafted to compliment the dish. Topped with a shredded parmesan cheese and baked to perfection this is a must try menu item if you like Italian. The portion size was also very generous. Cherry had a glazed chicken breast and roasted potatoes with a sea salt dusting. Again everything was perfect and flavorful. I'd just like to say for the serious food addict like me this is a must visit place. It takes a lot to make a memorable and pleasant dining experience and The Brickyard Cafe can give you that. From a great location, fabulous people and a old world dining experience that you won't soon forget the...
Read moreI’ve ate here a few times and service and food have been wonderful and worth telling others about. However my husband and I invited our friends along who have never tried brick yard and we were so disappointed and kept apologizing. The service and and food was horrible last Friday. We waited 15 mins for menus and a drink order and another 30 Minutes for our appetizer. 30 mins for our salads followed by an hour wait for our food and the food wasn’t brick yard quality I usually have. We were told our wait would be 30 mins and we kept waiting until we asked again where we’re now told an hour for seating. They gave us the option to set outside which would have been fine but we waited an hour and a half outside to the point I let them know my 5yr was cold and we needed a table inside. Setting outside everyone we see walk in is seated so I’m already annoyed at this point and my party was 5 people one being a child. By the time we’re done with our meal the restaurant turns into a club with strobe lights and music not appropriate for a child and the atmosphere did not match brick yards typical standards. I don’t think I’ll ever be back I think this one horrendous experience ruined this restaurant for me in comparison Olive Garden would be a...
