Frosty Freeze — Restaurant in Franklin

Today was our first visit to Frosty Freeze. We are new to the area, so we are exploring new (to us) places.

Frosty's has been around for a very long time and appears to be an integral part of the community. The seating area out front was nice and seems decently maintained. There was a bit of a line and a number of people seated at the covered picnic tables eating.

The girl who took our order was decent, but not overly friendly. A smile and even just a dab of friendly conversation would have added a nicer experience, but in all fairness, it was almost a 100 degrees today outside, so not sure what it was like for her inside.

There is an extensive menu of food (meal) things to choose from. Sandwiches, chicken tenders, corn dogs, fries, hot dogs, etc, etc, etc. I'm not sure of the quality since we didn't order anything from that menu, but there were a number of things that appealed to us, so we'll likely go back to try some of those things.

The ice cream menu on the other hand is pretty limited imo. There were only about 6 flavors of hard ice cream along with soft serve. Sundaes and topping choices were very limited. (Not what I'd expect from a place that is named Frosty Freeze.) Milkshakes were available. They apparently do not sell ice cream sandwiches. They also had a few other odds and ends, dessert-wise, available. Pie slices, etc.

Overall, we kind of left disappointed with the options and quality of the ice cream, but will go back and give the meal options a try.

This place has been around since the mid 50's under several owners. Perhaps a fresh outside assessment of the place and its menu could be considered by the owner(s). I think there's alot of potential here to change and improve things to make this a great place!

I have driven by this place many times. There is usually a line of customers especially in the summer. Milkshakes are second to none. I can honestly say that I have never had a milkshake better at any place anywhere. I believe they have 99 flavors of milkshakes. I am a man who goes to places for a specific reason. To me for some reason I can't change my order when I eat here. I always get a cheeseburger with mayonnaise only, small chocolate shake and an order of crinkle fries. If my wife is with me we share a large order of chili fries with cheese and she gets a strawberry milkshake, which I awesome as well. I had a friend from California visiting one weekend and took her there on a Saturday afternoon and she ordered a peanut butter milkshake and I swear to God himself, that the girl making the milkshake put a few big ole spoon full of peanut butter in her shake. She loved it so much that we jumped in the Jeep the very next day to get another one. She and I were so disappointed because they are closed on Sunday. Here are the only two drawbacks. One. There seems to be entirely too many flies flying about, especially if you're sitting at one of the picnic tables out front. The other thing is that it seems as the price has increased so much in the last 6 months that you can only afford to eat here once a month instead of twice a week. But like I said the best...

I was completely disappointed not only in the service, but also the attitude of the employee. My sister asked about the "crazy chocolate dough" and what made it crazy, and the lady said it was "ice cream" and just the name, very rudely. We ordered it, and it was colorful ice cream that tasted terrible, and already melting after being served from the freezer. We were only the 2nd person in line, and my order took over 25 minutes to be delivered, and by the time my sister ordered was delivered at 45 minutes, my ice cream already melted. They were making other orders that came in after us, before my sister ever got hers. The banana split didn't have a lid so spilled in our vehicle so we had to toss it out before getting home. The cup holder tray didn't fit their cups so my sister ended up holding them in the vehicle, but after going over a bump and making a turn so we can toss the banana split out, the other ice cream that were in cups spilled all over my sister white pants.
