We had come here for pizza versus going to North Italia down the street (who we also love) because the food has been great and always awesome service...until... The pizza has so much added salt, but could've been a salty waiter trying to punish me and my child (innocent btw) and the wings were honey habanero but we didn't taste any habanero. I asked the waiter Finny for another glass of wine before I finished existing, considering my first glass took a little longer than expected due to a full house and prob just backed up, no big deal. She brings my second glass and PICKS UP MY FIRST UNFINISHED GLASS AND POURS IT INTO THE OTHER GLASS?!??!! Whoa, wth just happened? I look at her and say "Please don't ever do that again" long story short she tells me "Fine dining class she attended taught them to do that" when asked where she took this class, she says right there at the restaurant. Since when is Brixx "fine dining" and in all my years working in hospitality too as well as all my years dining CASUALLY and FINELY, has this ever happened! And why didn't she consolidate the other person's second drink with their first? Also where was the apology Finny? Next thing I know, a new waiter Drew comes by and says he'll be taking our table over. To spite me, she put my son and I food order in as pepperoni vs meatball, imagine that lawsuit when someone's allergic to pepperoni nevermind the added work and WASTED food she caused. I'd hate to be a part of her gene pool. I called out to Finny as she passed and said "Thank you for giving us Drew, he's been great!" As I left for fear of her having "friends" in the kitchen to mess with my food; hence sus on the overly salty pizza, is when I discussed with the manager who knew what happened was wrong because he also came by twice asking if everything was ok, NEVER brought it up and discounted our bill without us even saying anything or asking-stoll don't know what the $7.50 discount was about...so I did upon exit and he literally was useless, an empty apology and never said I'll talk to her so maybe he supports what she did. I will laugh at the "FINE DINING TOLD HER TO DO THAT" for years to come...Thanks for a good ice breaker story! #NashvillePizza #NorthItalia #NYPie so...
Read moreWe went here because of the great reviews. The food just didn't seem to achieve what it sets out to do (wood-fired pizza) and paled in comparison to other places.
There were a few hiccups during the meal and with the check (I believe due to our server being new), but the waiter we had and the manager were both very friendly. The food, however, left both my wife and I completely underwhelmed. Perhaps a fluke of the oven not being the right temperature, or because they were sitting out for a long time, but our chicken wings came out stone cold. The manager was kind enough to comp us for that. Thank you! For those ordering the wings, keep in mind they are cooked in the oven so they aren't the crispy kind, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you know what to expect.
We ordered the Chicken Florentine and the Bronx Bomber pizza. Most of the pizzas seemed to come with an olive oil base instead of the typical red sauce. We decided to get these two pizzas because it was one of each type and we wanted to give both a shot. Of course whether you like any given food is subjective, but the pizza just missed the mark for us. It wasn't crispy like you'd expect from a wood-fired oven (again, perhaps the oven wasn't hot enough, or maybe it's supposed to be that way...), the dough was nondescript and "blah," and the red sauce tasted very tinny, like something from a can from the supermarket. The overall quality felt like something from a dedicated kids' menu. I did like the gorgonzola and sausage, but those two toppings individually didn't save the pizza.
Something to keep in mind if you do decide to go here is that you can only order the pizzas in one size, which is 11". So instead of being able to buy the right size for your party for $XX.xx, you basically have to order each person their own personal pizza which at $12-14 per personal pizza, can really add up and likely will come out to being much more expensive than the "traditional" style of buying a pizza or two to share with your party. I suppose it's good if you want to try a few different styles, but just something to keep in mind. It seemed more like a "lunch menu" of pizza rather than a "night out with friends and family"...
Read moreDelivery driver review: I've picked up here quite a few times now, maybe 15 pickups, and the last 12 or so has been great. The first times were over 2 years ago and things weren't terrible, but kind of sloppy, although not bad enough to review them low. They've gotten the delivery pickup process pretty well sorted now, and for so many restaurants it all comes down to management putting in the time and effort to build that process, including having employees who are specifically dedicated to pickups, and who aren't prejudiced against delivery drivers.
So now Brixx has become a preferred pickup for me for those reasons, plus it's clear management is emphasizing customer service anyway. I almost always get a parking spot right next to the door (special carry-out spots), have someone open the door for me (snazzy!), and get addressed within seconds when I approach the pickup counter. Add on top of this the relatively quick time for orders to be ready (at most I've waited maybe 5-7 minutes and I usually don't wait at all) and you've got a 5-star delivery...
