5/20/2016 Worse Dining Experience! Despicable Customer Service! Embarrassing, Insulting and Arrogant Management! Life Event/Memorable Milestone Destroyer! Took my son here today for a birthday luncheon. Arrived about 2:55 p.m. In the midst of eating our food and conversing we didn't realize that they were "transitioning" to their dinner line, so on our next trip to the buffet additional items had been place on it. Both my son and I selected small servings of some of the additional items. We return to our seats only to find that the server had placed a new ticket on our table and removed one given to us previously. I got up and asked her why did we have a new ticket with a different total than before, the server then spoke to another female (whom I assumed was her Supervisor, but have since found out is actually the Owner/Manager's wife) in their native tongue and she approaches me and says " You eat seafood?" Baffled (as there were several seafood items on the buffet before the additional items were added) I informed her that I had fixed another plate of food but hadn't eaten it yet. Her response was, "You eat seafood, you pay more. You pay dinner price now." I said, isn't it still lunch? She says, you eat lunch you pay lunch, you eat seafood you pay dinner. I told her that the server did not inform us of that, and we were not aware of it. (One would assume that if it's on the buffet then you're allowed to eat it, unless otherwise noted, right?) Then she asks, "You want to eat seafood?" and states, "You have to pay." So I said, "I have a plate at the table, do you want it back?" She says, "Yes, I take it back." At this point, I ask her, "So, you would rather take it back and throw it away?" She says "Yes!" So I walk to my table and explain to my son that we can not eat the plates we have fixed because we will charged the additional fees if we do so. I let him decide since this, after all, is HIS birthday luncheon. But of course after this not only embarrassing, but shoddy treatment (and yes, she did take the plates away) we decide to leave. As I'm checking out, the clerk states that they start switching over to dinner at 3:30. I reiterated that we were not aware of this, and the server did not inform us of it either. She just automatically charged us the additional prices. I asked her where does it state that? Pointing to their signage, I asked if IT stated that. Clearly it didn't. By this time the supervisor had walked over and I asked "who is the owner of this restaurant?" She repeats, Owner? "He not here." I said well, can I get his name and a number. She states, "I don't know." I said you don't know the owners name? She says, no, and then states "he don't have number." Of course at this point it's clear that she trying to insult my integrity. So then I ask, "well who's the Manager?" Both of them ignore me and continue to speak to each other in Chinese, Vietnamese or whatever language they speak. At this point I informed both of them that I would not be patronizing their restaurant again and that I intend to let my displeasure be known. Hence, this review. Not only were they rude, but Unprofessional as well! It's apparent by their actions and nonchalant attitudes that Customer Service is not a top priority with them and they do not value their customers. Well, I value myself, my money and my integrity and I refuse to have any of us abused or insulted. All it would have taken was a simple explanation, and/or sign, as to what their policy is. Or better still, if the patrons are not allowed to eat certain items until a particular time, DON'T PUT IT ON THE BUFFET!!! I've eaten at 100's of Asian restaurants/buffets and have NEVER encountered this!!! Besides, the food is MEDIOCRE and the Cleanliness/Sanitation is Questionable. Don't be a victim of convenience as we were. You can find much better food, a nicer/cleaner environment and friendlier people who will appreciate your patronage by traveling another 20-30 minutes. It will be well worth it. I definitely will...
Read moreIt's too hot in this place to eat cold old food (assuming left over from lunch) nothing was fresh at all. . It was different ppl tonight. The friendly host must be on vacation. . Never again, I've given them 3 chances, and all three failed . Don't eat here. Take the drive to Morgan City to China King. The food here is greasy and hard. The veggies are over cooked and the greanbeans aren't cooked at all. The freshest thing was the watermelon. The poached fish (it's not salmon) is soaked in crab boil . The boiled shrimp is boiled in salt water with jalapeño. And we sat there one hour with no crab legs, just the scraps. Now, if you add this seafood to ya plate, even one bite, you are charged 3.00 extra to the buffet . The lady there tonight is very, very rude. The ice cream has been defrosted and scooped back into containers. They had a clump of chocolate ice cream on top of the vanilla. And the rainbow one is like soup. Not for the weak stomachs to see .. the fried donut could kill a small animal if thrown. (Hard ppl) The lemonade is watered down. I asked for lemon I was told to get it. I'm like huh?? She repeated go get it off the bar. It was over 80 degrees after all day working, not good to try and eat. Franklin needs a great place to eat beside the forest, which I'm not impressed with and Ms Annie's is okay, but I never catch them open. This place city buffet, is not good . How the ppl eat here amazes me. The board of health needs a trip there. Franklin is so pretty, but like heck no-brainer the food sucks..... Competitive they are not. Poorly cleaned hot and bad food. 42.52 wasted... oh I didn't leave a tip. Rudness is not customer service. Don't waste ya time eating here ppl. Nasty...
Read moreI would normally give this place a better rating. But this past time I went to go and get my food. They gave me the bottom of the barrel food plus I chipped my tooth with the hard sesame chicken. Because they gave us food that was already prepared. Sitting there on the buffet when we ordered fresh food. And they did not give us fresh food. I spent way too much money over $50 for some food They have that had been just sitting out on the bar all night. I forgot to tell you all what I ordered. I ordered a large Is lo mein, a large pork rice Crab with cheese ,shrimp with lobster sauce, and large fried shrimp. All were cold and unappetizing. Seems like the guy was trying to get out of there rather than to make sure that my food...
