Always try the bowl of gumbo here, very good served with potato salad as your meal... I have been living at the Best Western Franklin Hotel for going on three months straight October-December . This restaurant is the best In town, but that being said there are only a few in the town.. The consistency of quality of food is always up and down. If the owner Is there, hands down great quality food! The waitresses are excellent and extremely friendly which makes up for the long wait for the food. I recommend the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Appetizer. As for healthy choice I always went with Tuna, or a special request for grilled chicken tenders with them Loaded like the grilled hamburger steak. The forests Crab cake is not famous, or even well known. All the forests sandwich's and hamburgers are really consistent and good.

Hope my review helps anyone, Id rate them 3.5 stars but not 4 that's why i went...

My co-workers and I regularly order lunch to be delivered from Forest Restaurant. Everything I have tried from this establishment has been good. I have never actually set foot in the restaurant, so I can't speak to that, however the food quality is great. My favorite thing to order is their fried shrimp po-boy. They use extra large, juicy shrimp. They are fried to perfection, and then they fully dress the po-boy with mayonnaise, lettuce, and plenty of thickly sliced tomatoes. The french fries that come with it aren't the great, but they are good. I highly recommend also getting one of their desserts. Every single one I have tried has been great. A couple of my co-workers will order the daily special every time, which changes from day to day, however seems to...

I married a California boy - We go back and forth - when he is here he always has to eat at the Forest. He recently drove back to CA with four meals plus lots of rice and others things all from the To Go section of the Forest plus the meals he ordered. He loved the Shrimp Fettucini and the Gumbo so far. Two more days of traveling to go. He definitely loves that place and he loves the good service he gets from the wait staff there. Personally, I love the Crab Corn bisque myself. Best thing is to get one of the printed out menus to have on hand and always get extra meals to go. The Mississippi Mud Pie is to die for and I am not a sweet eater but you will want to eat the whole pie after one piece! Definitely...

Recently: stale bread on skimpy shrimp poboys. Doesn’t that go in bread pudding or made into croutons?? Less recent: To-Go food here has always been top notch. The burgers, the hamburger po-boy, the shrimp po-boy, amongst many on other choices won't leave you hungry. Delicious Cajun Food found here. Dined in and had their fried crawfish and etouffee which was plenty and worth it as well. Great local dining spot and one of the few in town. 02.02.22: had their Shrimp Gumbo at a family event: it had ZERO love in it. Seemed like an after thought. Whoever made it that day needs to find another line of work. It wasn't Gumbo. More like a watery stock with only Shrimp. Like I said ZERO love. Fix this.

While out house hunting this morning, my wife and me came across the Forest Restaurant. We're from Houma, where there are plenty of Cajun restaurants. We were curious to try a new place that promises Cajun cuisine. We were impressed. Tiffany, our server, took care of our table. She was very knowledgeable about the menu items. Everything was great, from the appetizer to the entrée. The food was flavorful, and the portion size was good. The place was clean and seating was abundant. Do yourself a favor and stop by this place. It's southern hospitality and Cajun cuisine in one place.

This place is ALWAYS ON POINT!!!! I WILL TRAVEL AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES JUST TO DINE HERE---THE FOOD IS THAT GOOD!!! lol The waitresses are all sweet and the most cordial. EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS GOOD!!!!! EVERYTHING! Well...I haven't tried the Po Boys...because there are just too many OTHER homemade meals that are worth the calories. The gumbo, hamburger steak, grilled catfish with etouffee...and MS mud pies are my favorites...along with the red beans and rice and the spaghetti and meatballs.
