Very disappointed! Let me preface this with the fact that I and my family have been patrons of this place for over 30 years. Sadly, the quality of the food and service here has been on a steady decline for some time now. However, my familyâs most recent experience (this past week) prompted me to finally take the time to author this review in the hopes that perhaps management will take it to heart and take a hard look at their operation. To further explain, just prior to the restaurantâs closing for the Christmas holiday, I was home from FL and wanted food from Leonardoâs. Despite nearly 20-30 minutes of trying to call in and place an order, we were unsuccessful in getting someone to answer the phone. Rhetoric around town suggests that we are not the only folks to whom this has been happening. The phone rings and rings, non-stop, then disconnects.
The food we have gotten there the past couple of times has been, at best, mediocre. The torpedo sub that was once a menu-icon has become an embarrassment, to say the least. Suffice it to say that a 5-dollar foot-long from Subway would easily rival its current quality and quantity. The same stands true for the grilled chicken salad. What has happened to the deep-fried cauliflower? Perhaps a change in vendors to reduce overhead costs?? Well, youâre driving away clients, as word is starting to make its way around town.
This past week, my parents experienced a colossal failure in ordering and hoping for decent food. Upon placing their order, they were advised of a 30 minute wait. No problem at all! After arriving to pick up the order 30 minutes later, they had to wait an additional half hour once inside. They observed absolute chaos and total mayhem behind the counter. It turns out the food was cold and honestly should have never been allowed to leave the restaurant. Ironically, a couple of other customers were also upset and having the same experience and shared with my father that they, too, were ready to no longer order from there due to service and quality issues.
I would suggest, in sincere interest of the restaurant and its viability for the future, that you all take a hard look at operations as well as the quality of the food and customer service. There is enough up and coming competition, namely the local breweries and neighboring restaurants that will âeat your lunch,â and rightfully so at this point. Itâs honestly very sad, and moreover, completely unnecessary that a Franklin-area staple is seemingly dying a slow death. I wish you the best and hope to hear of improvement, and until this is the case, itâs very doubtful that any of us...
Read moreMy niece &I ate at Leonardo's twice in the weekend we were in Franklin PA. We were walking through the town and walked past this amazing restaurant where the aroma pulls you inside. And the food is every bit as delicious. We had a pepperoni & and mushroom that day for lunch with tiramisu for dessert The following evening, I had their fried ravioli & canolli ,my niece had a personal size piazza, which was the size of a normal small pizza . They hav an amazing menu, and all the food looked awesome going to the other tables. This was before attending the concert at the Borrow civic center theater, which is what took us to Pa. In the first place. Will definitely return when I return to Franklin, Pennsylvania again. Maybe next year, for another Elvis Forever tribute concert . I live in Ohio, so it's not just a matter of...
Read moreThe food here can only be described as great! Anything you want thatâs Italian is probably on the menu plus some things youâve probably never heard of. My personal pick is the calzones, which reminds me, the portions are huge here. Itâs likely that if youâre going to have any of the bread that they serve as a precursor to your meal, and/or a salad, I would recommend just getting a half size when available. On the other hand however, whatâs wrong with taking some of this wonderful food home with you? The staff is also polite to those they are waiting on. The atmosphere is good with lighting that feels warm and cozy along with the layout of the restaurant making you feel separate from the outside world, which is a nice touch. Youâll have to wait a little bit longer for your food, but I think itâs...
