Mom's Restaurant — Restaurant in Franklin

We moved here from NJ (home of the diner) 5 years ago. Having been born and raised in NYC, I know good food and I especially know good diner food. I have been incredibly disappointed in every "diner" I've found so far. My husband and I stopped in today after I happened to find them on Google maps. We are both so glad we found this place and will be coming back very often! The atmosphere is cute, I love the coffee mugs. The two women, Patty and Shannon were awesome. Very friendly and sweet. The food was hands down the best "diner" food we've gotten in Ohio. My husband got eggs, home fries, bacon, biscuit and gravy and toast. I got French toast and bacon and both of us were very impressed! This is definitely our new favorite place. Honestly, I read the bad reviews and I truly believe those who didn't like the food, just don't have good taste. Ohioans tend to have a very bland and strange palate. Seriously, who puts chili on spaghetti?? If you prefer the waffle house over mom's read restaurant, you need to expand your taste buds. If you don't like the atmosphere or people, you need to take a look at yourself bc the people here are awesome. This woman has been in business for a long time and there's a reason for that. I can't wait to bring my kids here and am looking forward to my next...

Went there because reviews over all were good. The workers were friendly. I got their breakfast special that had bisc and grvy,eggs home fries sausage . They brought out our bisc and grvy about 5 min later my eggs that were a perfect over med. Home fries and sausage. I split meat and potatoes. We waited and waited finally I asked waitress she talked to our waitress and she came over looked at our plates and said you didn't get your eggs? Nope. She went in kitchen came out about another 5 min. Said now here's your eggs, didn't apologize at any point or time which is the number one thing you do if your order is wrong. But she was nice otherwise but really I was surprised because she like myself was not young. And even then the fact that it took so long meant that the gravy got 🥶 they should have offered to heat it up. I tried to get my husband to but he wouldn't and we like to mix our gravy with our eggs, gross but true. So if we ever go back again I would ask them to make sure they don't do the gravy until the eggs are about done or just get biscuits and gravy only. The gravy is homage and very good. Just wish there timing was better. Being there for a long time you would think they'd have it down...

Went to moms place for the first time, was a bit alarmed at how long we had to wait to get a seat. When we finally got a seat, the waitress brings me coffee. The coffee was terrible! I would’ve rather had mud. Then we waited 43 minutes, for breakfast! We were going to leave, but just kept saying five more minutes five more minutes. When we I finally got the food, was very disappointed! My husband said his order of biscuits and gravy he was more like they just took canned biscuits and put burnt flour with very little sausage on top. It was not even appeasing to the eye. I took a little bite and 100% agreed with my husband. I ordered bacon strips with egg and toast. The eggs were rubbery, the toast taste like it’s been out there for a couple of minutes was not crispy, and the bacon was not crispy at all. We didn’t give any complaints, because we just wanted to pay, get out and go home and eat something good for breakfast. I do not recommend this place. It is not good! And they say the best biscuits and gravy around, Ha!
