Let me begin by saying I've been coming to this place since the early 1990s...and under the original management, it really was the best Japanese in town. Well that has since changed.
Stopped in last week after placing an online order for a quick pick up on the way home...was told by the rather rude and abrupt waitress that I had to "pay again" b/c they "never accept payments online." I told her twice that I already had paid and even tried to show her my confirmation email, to which she insisted I was wrong and told me I had to pay her. When I finally got home, we had the wrong order. I called the restaurant and was told to "bring back the food to get the right order."
Long story short - I was charged for 2 different orders, made to make 2 trips to the restaurant (with a tired, cranky toddler in tow), and was completely shocked by the way I was spoken to and treated by the sarcastic, condescending and rude waitress (Madison). She was even extremely rude to the older Asian woman who was working alongside of her. She never asked my name, details of my order, or even thanked us initially. She never apologized for the incorrect order or payment misunderstanding. She repeatedly tried to shove the bag of food into my hands before even addressing the refund of my payment. And when I told her I wanted my money refunded, and to just cancel the order, she became very snotty and told me it "wasn't her problem" and I needed to contact Postmates online.
I was approached by a very nice lady outside as I was getting my kiddo back into the car who told me "don't take it personally, she's rude to everyone."
When we finally got home (the second time), our food was obviously cold. The tempura was soggy and consisted of 3 slices of veg and 1 shrimp. The kids meal was so salty my son couldn't eat it. The chicken teriyaki was so overcooked and dry it was barely edible (my dog enjoyed it). Not to mention my son and I were both sick for several hours after attempting to eat our meals.
Sadly, this place is just not the same as it used to be. Poor quality and very unprofessional customer service. We...

As someone who has been coming for weeks after starting my new job here in franklin. I only get 30 mins to eat for lunch and you would think it would be okay to order take out and ask to dine in. Nope wrong I was first told to call in and let them know I was dining in so they didn’t use their paper plates and bags and I was okay with that but every time I did let them know I still got it in a paper plate and bag after telling them on the phone I was guy who ordered the same thing and was dining in. Today I ordered the same food and let them know I was coming in after eating half my food they sent someone else to speak for them since they couldn’t say what they needed to say to me personally. I was told takeout is meant for takeout and if I’m dining in I should let them know?? And was told dine in is meant for people dining. Even though I asked the gentleman and his mom if I could dine every time I come in just to be polite and they would say “yes it’s okay”. Now half way through my food I’m treated as second class because I’m ordering takeout. I get the host was the messenger and not her fault but the owners problem. I would recommend them on working their customer service and...
Read moreAlmost all of the tables were full, which is a great sign for a random Wednesday night. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles), egg rolls, and a Thai iced tea. The main dish had a great flavor to it, with enough spice to give it a kick but not so overwhelming that you couldn't eat it. I ended up asking for a little extra chili oil to amp it up a bit, but that's just personal preference for heat. The only downside to it is that the noodles really stuck together and ended up slightly gummy because of it. It was a large portion for the price, and I could have gotten two meals out of it. They accidentally brought me steamed gyoza instead of the egg rolls, but charged me the lower price of the egg rolls so it all worked out. Gyoza was pretty typical, nothing to specifically go back for, but not something to avoid either. The Thai iced tea was a bit sweeter than I'm used to, but still worth the money. Overall I would absolutely go back and try other dishes. Several tables were ordering sushi and the rolls looked good. Staff/owners were also extremely friendly and you could see they cared about...
