The SHED craft bar & kitchen — Restaurant in Franklin

Found a great new spot in Franklin today. The Shed has a great vibe. The interior has a cool wood plank walls behind the bar and used as accents, with walnut table tops continuing that theme. The drinks menu came on a wooden board that was laser engraved with the bourbon menu on one side and a paper beer menu on the other. It was super inviting and comfortable.

They have an excellent craft beer menu. We tried the Mighty Squirrel Cloud Candy, Maine Lunch and Aeronaut Citra Galaxy Session. They were all delicious. They also have an expansive bourbon selection. Bourbon isn't my drink but I included a photo for all who are interested.

Gina was our server and she made us feel right at home! She made good recommendations and was very attentive. The place was packed but we never felt like we had to wait.

We started with flatbread - Caramelized onions, baby arugula, prosciutto, lemon balsamic drizzle, oil and garlic, parmesan cheese. The prosciutto's crispy salty taste was perfect with the sweet onions and arugula.

My husband had the Cherry Mole Pulled Pork Tacos. Cherry mole pulled pork, flour or corn tortillas, red onion herb relish, served with homemade chips.

I had the Ginger Tomato Salad with salmon. Cherry tomatoes, mixed greens, candied hazelnuts, gorgonzola, red onions, house made croutons, ginger balsamic vinaigrette. It was great!

I recently visited The SHED craft bar & kitchen and had an amazing experience. The restaurant has a trendy and modern atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Tasting Plate, which was absolutely delicious. The waffles were perfectly crisp and fluffy, and the fried chicken was juicy and flavorful. Blueberry jam were the perfect accompaniments, and added a unique twist to the classic dish.

The Shed was recommended to us by several people. With by the price point and glowing reviews, we were expecting a bit more of a positive experience. However, we found the service was not that great and the food was good but not as great as we were expecting. We arrived for an early date night at 5pm so the place was not that busy to account for the lackluster service. We ordered the fig flatbread which was delicious but the server messed up the main food order and gave us the wrong sides. He was also acting strangely (walked behind me 6 separate times and would lean over like he was looking for something around my seat/feet, then looked confused while walking away) and he also had dirty looking fingernails similar to someone who just finished working under a car. I ordered the bean burger, which was mostly rice and fell completely apart immediately upon taking one bite. I ended up ditching the bun and eating it as a rice dish...not a big deal but when combined with everything else, I don't see us going back again even though this was probably a one off given the many...
