TLDR: Excellent Vietnamese food for a reasonable price! Come for the pho and banh mi. Vibe: 4/5. Located in a nondescript strip mall, Ann Loi is a no frills Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant only has a half dozen parking spaces available, so parking may be tight around peak meal hours. Inside, Ann Loi has a main front of house counter for takeout orders and 10-12 tables for dine in. Each table comes equipped with your normal pho accoutrements which includes plum sauce, Sriracha and chili oil. Service: 5/5. The staff was perfect throughout our meal from start to finish. My party of 2 came around 12:30pm on a Sunday and we're seated by the hostess immediately. Our orders were taken not too long after we sat down and the food was out within 10 minutes of ordering. When we were finished, the staff gave us several to-go containers for our leftovers and we closed the bill out with ease. Overall, a very smooth lunch service! Food: 5/5. Exceptional pho that cured 2 very hungover wedding attendees! For lunch, we ordered the steak banh mi, cold cut banh mi, brisket pho, seafood and egg pho w/ rice noodles and a Thai iced tea. Both banh mis were very tasty. The French bread was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and paired nicely with both meat options. The pho broths we're soothing and perfectly balanced between savory and sweet. All of the accompaniments in both bowls were tasty, abundant and played nicely with the broth. And finally the Thai iced tea was a refreshing choice that tied the whole meal together. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Ann Loi and highly recommend for those Sunday scaries!

I always see Pho An Loi recommended on the Frederick Fatty Facebook group and was so excited to finally try them today! 😊 We WAY over ordered because we're used to much smaller portions for the price. What we ordered: 1) cha gio (fried spring rolls), 2) goi ga (chicken salad; I thought this was similar to Thai larb gai but it's not), 3) ga xoi mo noodle soup, 4) banh mi thit heo nuong (pork banh mi sub), 5) goi du du Thai (papaya salad), 6) bun bo nuong sa (lemongrass beef with vermicelli noodles), 7) pho la cay, and 8) tai pho. The kids also got fresh fruit Boba smoothies. I absolutely loved the spring rolls! They were packed with flavors. The fish sauce they're served with was so good I drank the rest of it! đŸ€Ł The pho and noodle soups were hot and fresh with smooth flavor. I really enjoyed the papaya salad. It's similar to the papaya salad I usually order at Thai restaurants (not as spicy though). The chicken salad that I thought was like larb gai was just OK for me. It needed either spice or salt (or both). Lemongrass beef was also delicious and full of flavor! The building itself is nondescript and looks like a dive from the outside. The parking lot is a bit tight. The food will definitely bring us back though! Especially because the servings are so large for the price. I'm looking forward to returning and trying other dishes. 😍

I came to Pho An Loi on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm after the lunch rush. I ordered the phở đáș·c biệt (house special beef noodle soup) 🍜 as well as the pork bĂĄnh mi sandwich. Both were very good. This restaurant was renamed and is under new ownership, connected to their sister restaurant in Columbia, MD. That location is usually packed at lunch time, since they’ve been there for years and the word had gotten out about this gem. I’m sure it’ll just be a matter of time before the new Frederick location gets very busy, especially with Fort Detrick right across the street. Service staff are young, friendly and energetic. One server was giving me tips on my Viet word pronunciation, which of course can be very challenging for a non-native speaker (low-level beginner :). Only (very) minor service gripe is that they didn’t offer to refill my water. I would recommend you check out Pho An Loi for yourself; I believe that you will not be disappointed. Ngon miệng!😊

I feel like all restaurants in Frederick are struggling with servers and with patrons. This is the first time I’ve gone to this restaurant. My husband and I came a little bit later on a Friday evening closer to 730. The server was an older gentleman. He took our order we ordered spring rolls and summer rolls as well as lemonade, coconut water. For our entrĂ©es, I ordered the Vietnamese lemongrass beef, and my husband ordered stirfried curry Singapore noodles. The appetizers were fine which we received in a good time. They were just OK. My husband then was delivered a meal that wasn’t his. He wasn’t really sure so whoever delivered it kind of dropped it and ran and it took a while for someone to get waved down so he could explain that wasn’t his dinner. It was almost as if they thought my husband was wrong. He knew he had ordered noodles and this was not noodles at all. It was some sort of chicken on rice. They were gone for a little bit and brought him his dinner, but my dinner still didn’t come, it did finally come after we had eaten half of my husband‘s dinner. My dinner was not at all what I expected, but I had never ordered it before it was literally some sort of dried beef, small little pieces and when I look at the website at what it should’ve looked like from other peoples pictures that they posted this meat should’ve been tender and there should’ve been scallions and that’s not at all what I got. I feel like I got whatever was left at the end of the night thrown on the rice. I’m really really disappointed. we don’t go out to dinner hardly at all and I would love to support the restaurants in our area but this one I won’t be...
