When I first moved to Frederick, I was told how much my parents loved the preservation project when my Father served as one of the Presidents of Schifferstadt Architectural Museum. For The Landmarks Foundation. Which ironically he also named his real estate business Landmark Realty which I adapted for current law to be The Landmark Group. It is amazing how over the past 40 years, it is still the same chapter of history in that early German property. We are soo grateful for the people who formed this preservation movement in Frederick to preserve much of our unique architecture. The Festivals are much appreciated. It is wonderful to enjoy the seasons in the museum to see how would the original occupants have utilized the property during that season. This is a wonderful way for the community to connect over volunteer and fund raising to keep this special culture alive...

Just wow! We thought this would be a boring thing to do on a lazy Saturday but it turned out to be an absolutely magnificent experience!

First, Beth, our docent was personable, knowledgeable, and interesting. She made the entire tour worth it. 5/5 for the tour!

The gift shop has trinkets and books that send pretty relevant to the tour. 5/5 for the gift shop.

The house and the tour were super interesting. The Brunner family left a lasting legacy for all Marylanders with the beautiful home they built. They brought their unique small town German flair to America and created a unique home for everyone to one day enjoy. 5/5 of the architecture and interesting structure of the home.

If you have a few free hours, take the tour, walk the small garden, buy something from the gift shop, and then, walk the Carol Creek Trail. It'll be a...

Our tour guide brought the stone house to life. Interesting and engaging! When in Frederick? Worth the experience.

Don’t miss their annual festival! My German/Irish husband and I have attended their OKTOBERFEST with friends & fam for 12 out of the past 13 years. Tradition! This October 20, 2024 was great fun with perfect weather. Oompah band, bratwurst & kraut, savory and fruit strudel, crafters, and draught beer. The Heifie was on target.

Entrance to Oktoberfest is free- although we always make a donation. To imbibe and get a wrist band for the craft beers-EVERYONE needs to show ID ( yup- even if you are 55...

I have lived in Frederick for many years and have driven past the old stone house on Rosemont Ave at 2nd Street. It's named Schifferstadt, and on Saturday, August 10th, I had the pleasure of a guided tour of the inside and heard the story of Joseph Brunner and family. Here are some photos
