We stayed in Freeport for 4 nights and found the Port Cafe, when looking for breakfast the first morning. My two teenagers loved their breakfast. Large portions, good prices and delicious. They both had French toast and I had machaca and we shared biscuits and gravy. Can’t go wrong with either. While we were there, my son was eyeballing the lunch buffet that they were putting out and said, “We should come back tomorrow.” So, we did! The lunch buffet is a spread of all the things your grandma would have made, if you had a southern grandma. There are standards and a main dish they rotate through depending on the day. Cornbread is killer. Between us we tried meatloaf, cheese enchiladas, tacos, ranch chicken, beans & cornbread, cobbler, and bananna pudding. Just, eat here. You won’t be sorry. Breakfast menu is available all day and the buffet opens at 11:00.

Found this little place when we stayed at the Motel 6 (would not recommend this motel btw), but the cafe was great. We stopped for breakfast. It's tiny, but the food is big! The servers are quiet but very friendly and kind! Prices were great. They ranged from about $6-$15 per person depending on what you ordered. Everything we got was delicious, except my teen did not enjoy the waffle, she said it was hard and she should have got the pancakes. The rest of the food was amazing! Very delicious and large portions. The salsa was so good, definitely homemade! Biscuits and gravy were excellent! Chicken fried steak was real, not frozen, and on point! The drinks were served ICE cold in these large, adorable mason jars. When we left they were setting up for their lunch buffet which looked so good! Don't miss out on this one!

Everything you could ask for in a morning after the beach breakfast place! Ladies are all so friendly, kind, and loved we had never been there before. Me and my husband routinely go to Freeport and have since we were kids but never checked out anything in the town. I got French toast and my husband got the chicken fried steak. All of it was so so good and tasted so home cooked. The strawberry jelly was for sure something dropped from heaven and I'm not sure if the syrup was name brand but it also tasted like it was touched by the ancestors!

The food here is fantastic and the service is great. The people that run the place are a very warm family who work very hard to create a nice family environment (if not fancy).

The kids had sausage, eggs and pancakes and it was great. I had 2 sausage, egg & cheese tacos and they were also great. And very inexpensive.

There was a nice big family with a new baby sitting next to us and as I left I asked where was a good place to to take my kids crabbing and buy bait. It turned out the man I was talking to was the owner. He insisted on giving me some chicken scraps to use for bait. He came out with a large bag of about 1 lb of chicken parts and insisted I take it.
