I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service my husband and I received today at Sweet T's. This was my first visit, although my husband has been a long-time customer, visiting for years with his father while working in the area.
Upon arrival, we chose a table in the front room. Shortly after, a group of three gentlemen sat near us, and a large party in the back continued to grow, eventually reaching 13 people. Our waitress then asked us to move tables to accommodate the larger group. When we didn't immediately respond, she loudly commented, "Just by the way she is looking at me she doesn't want to move." Another waitress suggested alternative seating arrangements for the large party, but our waitress continued to voice her frustration, stating, "I don't understand just moving over a table," which was audible to both our table and the table of gentlemen. Even they seemed to acknowledge her rudeness.
Our waitress then returned to our table and insisted we move, stating, "Sorry but you're going to have to move." When we stated we would not move, she responded, "well that's rude," and then set our food on the table. She then proceeded to explain to other customers and waitstaff in the back room that we refused to move.
My husband and I were so upset by this treatment that we decided to leave after waiting approximately 20 minutes for our food. While the food looked appealing, we ultimately did not get to try it.
We are incredibly disheartened by this experience and will not be returning...
Read moreIn our daily life we are always in a rush. I really enjoy to be in a place where you can take your time to see the whole menu and ask for five more minutes, without feeling presion to leave the table ASAP for next customer. Well, let me tell you, in downtown Freeport there is this restaurant. From the moment you enter you feel relaxed. The building looks old but clean, decoration has many authentic historical items on its walls. Even our table had some old newspapers pictures from Freeport history. The menu is American food with a lot of sea food on it. We went during the evening and had the opportunity to try the dinners. The indecision made me order the trio dinner which includes shirmp, cat fish, a stuffed crab and hush puppies. And every dinner is served with house salad, a choice of potato and a vegetable .The fish and the shrimp can be fried or grilled, I picked the grilled and I picked the baked potato and squach. When I see the amount of food I thought I won’t finish it. But every thing was tasteful so I finished all. But overall my favorite was the fish. My husband had the Rybeye and he also finish all of it. When I wanted to try it there was only a bone in his dish. I bet it was favoulous. Definetely we will come back and try the breakfast next time, and...
Read moreDisgusted! When my family and I went on vacation, the only reason why we stopped here to have breakfast was because I read a few reviews saying that this was the best breakfast in town. When we arrived we should have turned away immediately because the staff seemed unhappy that we were the customers. The food was disgusting! Half of our food was sent back because of the taste. I decided to just pay and not eat my food. I felt like I was in the 1930s eating at a restaurant I was "not supposed" to be in. I could feel the racist tension from the waitresses, the cooks, and the one person they had sitting at their little makeshift bar. The cook literally was staring at me every time the swinging door opened. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! I had a gut feeling that our food was tampered with and maybe that's why the taste was so off. I had four children with me so this was even more upsetting. If I ever do visit this town again on our next beach vacation, I'll be sure to just drop by McDonald's. Be safe if you decide to visit this "restaurant" especially if you are non-white! Also NOTICE how all the "good" reviews are from ...
