Taqueria Daisy — Restaurant in Freeport

I drove from Sweeny to get a dozen flour tortillas, 2 pounds barbacoa and menudo from another place (AR Cafe, for the 2nd time this week, lol) that was closed. A local recommended this place. It was okay. The barbacoa is extremely greasy but has a decent flavor. The menudo has an enjoyable spicy aftertaste, but the immediate flavor is quite bland. Corn tortillas were good, though I told the guy I would like a dozen flour tortillas, which I was willing to pay separately for- he told me they were included, however we only received the corn tortillas. I also ordered refried beans and rice. They forgot to place it in the order- no big deal- they fixed it. I didn't try the rice, but the beans were extremely runny and bland. The people were friendly and price was good. Everyone has their own preference- personally, for me- this isn't a place I would drive...

Thry are always friendly, don't seem to mind all my questions. The food we have gotten has all been pretty good. It's needed a bit of salt but that's it. Their menu is not right, odd pictures that don't match. Peices of paper taped on your cover and change things. It's sloppy and it's why I ask do many questions. I usually get the Barbacoa tacos thry are always good. Today I asked about their gorditas and the picture it showed. They told me it was a picture of their Gorditas. So I ordered two. It was not at all a picture of their gorditas on the menu. They were way bigger and I only needed one. But it's OK cause now I have lunch tomorrow too. My husband liked their loaded potatoe with Barbacoa and I always get their sm cup of corn with everything in it. I guess to figure out what they have I just need to try other things and not look at the menu...

We stopped at Taqueria Daisy because it happened to be one of the few places open late at night and man it was the best choice we made because those tacos were SO GOOD. I usually get chicken tacos whenever I go to any taqueria just to play it safe (which were also very good) but my boyfriend got some Carnita ones and omg those were even better! 10/10 recommend. The gentleman taking our order was super nice and friendly and didn’t mind us asking a bunch of questions, haha. Also, the service was extremely quick (it was also 1am on a Friday and not many people there) We live about an hour and a half away from there, but that will for sure be our go-to spot whenever we’re back...
