Where can I start about the glorious experience that is eating at Keki's? The small space allows for an intimate dining experience but still seems to feel light and airy. I may have to wait longer to get a table than I would at other breakfast places but it is a wait I have never regretted. It is neat, clean, and a well organized modern look inside of an older historic building. I don't know if it's an everyday practice but every time I've been there there have also been fresh cut flowers on the table. It's amazing what a simple move can add to your dining experience. Staff members are friendly, attentive, and stop at your table often to make sure everything is to your liking. The menu has just enough items to give proper selection but not be overwhelming. In my humble opinion, it's important for a restaurant to do a few things very well instead of a bunch of things mediocre. Keki's takes this exact approach. The menu is divided into traditional American breakfast options, Mexican breakfast options, and lunch items. My personal favorite items are the Enfrijoladas (add the avocado and some chorizo for maximum deliciousness!) and the steak Mega Burrito. Whether you are local or just passing through town, Keki's Café is a fantastic option for a unique...
Read moreWe stopped by on our way from Chicago for a concert while heading back home further east. I am a foodie, huge foodie - and that was hands down the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had in my life. Had mine with chicken added. Their hottest sauce is the best I’ve ever had. It is so flavorful and actually has some heat (I grow hot peppers and like to slice Carolina reapers into my food so you may find it hotter than I do… since that’s my gauge). The ingredients were clearly very fresh. The choice to slice potato the way they did (like a chip about a few centimeters thick) and lay it horizontally on the burrito was very thoughtful. It guarantees you’re always getting a balanced bite. You can’t beat the price either. We had been awake since 6 for an over 10 hour drive so this was very welcome and with eggs + chicken - absolutely protein packed to make it through the last parts of the journey. THANK YOU!
So. If you’re thinking of taking a slight detour for some food and stopping here like us on a road trip…. Don’t think twice. Just go. You will not be disappointed. But you may regret it if...
Read moreKekis Cafe in [City, e.g., Fremont, Ohio] was the perfect spot for a heartfelt reunion with my sister, who I hadn’t seen in eight years. She drove from Michigan with her husband and her 1-year-10-month-old baby, and I was in Fremont, Ohio, so we chose this Mexican restaurant—and we didn’t regret it! The costillitas de puerco con salsa roja y nopales were bursting with flavor, elevated by their amazing chile de árbol salsa, and the Mexican rice and beans were spot-on. My sister loved her (schnitzel)pollo empanizado with pico de gallo, rice, and beans. The coffee was a generous pour, ideal for our long catch-up. The staff was incredibly attentive, even providing my sister’s baby with something to stay entertained, showing their thoughtful, detail-oriented service. The cozy ambiance and warm hospitality made this lunch unforgettable, a cherished moment in Fremont. I 100% recommend Kekis Cafe for authentic, delicious...
