Tapioca Express — Restaurant in Fremont

Probably the worst boba tea I've ever had. The "fresh fruit tea" menu has 8-9 flavors- only 2 of them come with fresh fruit (strawberry and mango). That's what we ordered. There was no ice in the fruit tea. No idea what they customizations they offer- there were zero on the menu so we assumed there were none.

The cleanliness of this establishment was questionable and is nothing like what I've come to expect from boba shops.

Last nail in the coffin: Here, boba is not included in the price of the tea, like it is everywhere else. There is a surcharge for it.

The staff is friendly and we did have a pleasant conversation with them.

Response to owner: Your staff said that they only have fresh fruit for 2 of the fresh fruit flavors. Their words that I then put into a review. Talk to them if you think there's an inaccuracy. You can tell me now that you offer customizations but my point is- they weren't on the menu last week. If I don't know my options, how would I know what all I can ask for? Friendly owner, sometimes the tables are a little sticky, and there's flies in there. Probably from teenagers making a mess or leaving the door open. One time, I was comped with a free drink because they accidentally got my order wrong. I chose a coffee or brown caramel sugar drink, so good. I don't complain when restaurants make accidents - no worries. Thank you for comping. Their fries and chocolate waffles are SO GOOD. It gets busy when the high school kids get out , so between 1pm-3pm-ish. They have board games/Jenga, free wifi, and they're open late until 9 pm. All other places I went to weren’t to my liking because they tasted like expired milk. I was scared it’d be the same here… however Tapioca Express exceeded my expectations. The Thai Milk Tea I ordered was perfect sweetness and the Tapioca pearls were firm. I didn’t tip the first time, but I will definitely come again and make sure to tip.
