Food was awesome & tasted great. I went today with my family for takeout. So we did purchase multiple items on the menu to try & test out for my review content. We all enjoyed it. Now if your looking for Cajun taste this food doesn't have a Cajun feel to it like my family & I are all use to but hey, even without that Cajun taste the food taste was still great for a quick bite to eat on a Sunday night. Ok....so I did have 1 downside tho....I had asked for "EXTRA" eggs in my chicken fried rice and it didn't look like I had much eggs at all. I could barely see them so it surely wasn't extra eggs. But also its just a me thing tho cause I love to see my eggs and I just didn't see that. But they were so nice and friendly I know if I would have told them in the store they would have fixed it NO problem!!!! by adding more eggs. Also, let me say that the cashier was so knowledgeable with everything on the menu and when I tell you it's alot of items on the menu im not kidding. Iol....But my experience wasn't rushed at all with having to choose cause it was our 1st time there. The manager/owner (well I think she was one of those)🤔 Well either way she was amazing as well she had me laughing the entire time. She has such a great energy that I can get behind. Cause she matches my energy & it's hard to find that in the food industry these days. Now food looked amazing, smelled great and came out fresh and hot. (Just how I like it) 🤗 If you haven't tried them it's worth checking them out. Read moreThe restaurant is a decent size, not too big, not too small, but it fills up quickly. During my visits, many customers were ordering takeout, myself included. I placed two separate takeout orders.
First Order: I ordered 3 pounds of crawfish with LA Cajun spice, along with corn, potatoes, funnel cake sticks, and a small combo fried rice. Unfortunately, the crawfish were overwhelmingly salty, to the point that I couldn't finish them. The corn and potatoes had absorbed so much of the seasoning they were inedible. The funnel cake sticks were over-fried and too hard, though I did appreciate the powdered sugar being served on the side. The combo fried rice, however, was well-seasoned and enjoyable.
Second Order: Because they are more boil in the bag, I decided to try something else. This time, I got 2 snow crab clusters with corn, potatoes, and sausage, plus a 9-piece fried shrimp with bayou seafood rice, and boudin egg rolls. The snow crab didn't seem to be the flavor I ordered, and I didn't care for the taste. The potatoes were overcooked and mushy, and the sausage was missing entirely. On the positive side, the fried shrimp were excellent--crispy and well-prepared. The bayou seafood rice lacked seasoning, and the boudin egg rolls were also over-fried, with the filling barely noticeable.
Overall, the fried shrimp were the highlight. I might return if I'm really craving them, but...
Read moreThe restaurant was clean and inviting when we walked in, and ordering was simple. We got the #6 combo and took advantage of the $5.99 crawfish add-on the host offered. Our food came out hot and fresh in about 10–15 minutes, with generous portions. The crab clusters, crawfish, boiled shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage link were delicious, full of Cajun garlic butter flavor with a nice spicy kick that wasn’t overpowering. A few things could be better. There was no paper on the tables, which made eating messy, and we had to ask for crab crackers and bibs. You also have to leave your ID to get the crab crackers, which I didn’t expect. The young ladies working the counter weren’t very attentive, and one was even eating behind the counter, which didn’t look good. There should be no eating, drinking, or cellphone use behind the counter in my opinion. They should also provide better paper towels for customers. However, I did appreciate the hand washing station — that was a nice touch. Overall, the food was great for the price, especially compared to pricier places like Crawfish Cafe in Pearland, but Bayou Seafood could improve their customer service, offer better napkins, and put paper on the tables. I will consider coming back to try some of their fried fish...
