Country Waffles — Restaurant in Fresno

Don't get the jalapeno burger... I don't know how you can mess up a burger but I guess thats why they're called the Country "Waffle." The jalapeno was not grilled, moist and hard!? It was probably steamed(or microwaved) by the burger patty, so it was soft, chewy and still raw/hard in certain bites. The meat patty tasted boiled too... Either over crowding and cooking the meat in its own stew or oil, but it was wet and had almost no texture.

Its like they steamed cooked the meat and jalapeno together and sent it out... disgusting.

Edit: So I don't know if this place is under new ownership recently because of how bad it was but yes you guys DID server jalapeno burgers(I ate here on FEB. 2025)... its not on your menu probably for good reason. But since you guys removed it I had to go get it from your other chain restaurants(waffle house on shaw). I've attached it in the photos and there clear as day its a jalapeno burger. I'm glad you guys removed it from your location but even if it wasn't a jalapeno burger (or any of the other burgers) the patty was so moist, its like it was steamed and tossed into the buns. A burger this bad does not leave someone's memory. Like in all honesty how can someone mess-up a burger that bad?? I tell you who... YOU.

But lets just say you are the new owner, its been barely a month since I ate there and now editing this review. How can you act dumb and say "we don't serve any jalapeño burgers." You own the store so you should at least know what was good and what works on your menu. It's been barely a month so I assume you know what you guys served right? You are the owner right??? Or is this just to make me look dumb and try to take back my review? From removing the item on your menu, acting ignorance to the item, then making me look like I somehow confused your store for...

I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore. I use to rave about this place since I use to go here with my family. From the moment we walked in we had the waitress yell at us since we were "in her way". Then was given attitude since we request a booth. After we were seated we asked the host for coffee and water. She left before I can ask for cream. Once she dropped off the coffee and water. I asked for their creamer. I had to ask twice for cream and finally got it 5 minutes later. When the waitress came to take our order she didn't left us finish our order. She walked away when she thought we were finished. The same waitress who yelled at us earlier. She then later said she would refill my coffee...never did. Once we got our food was when the fun happened. I got the eggs Benedict and my boyfriend got a waffle sandwich thing that they had stared on their menu. But surprise surprise. We were disappointed. Mine my ok but his was sad. Waffle was soggy , egg dried , chicken was similar to a frozen chicken nugget. my fruit was bad. Banana's were placed under the other fruit because they were brown. They never checked on us once. When dropping off the bill my boyfriend expressed his disappointment but she just said "haha ok" and padded the bill down. They don't care and side note it wasn't even that busy. A few years ago we previously frequented this Country Waffles; but today, & I am sorry for this review, we went for a late breakfast around 11:00 am, restaurant was not busy. We like eating outdoors & they used to have a nice Patio for outdoor dining. This time we went it was filthy, every table was Extremely Dirty, the whole Patio (which leads to entrance) was FILTHY, tables, chairs, rails, floors etc, I walked in & “3” workers were laughing & taking it easy by cash register. We used to like the food there, so even though the outside was FILTHY, we had a table cleaned (mediocrely) we asked if they could turn on the Nice Ceiling Fans & we were told that they were Broken? We ordered & Food was Horrible, pancake was cold, the hash browns & potatoes tasted HORRIBLE, like Oil (probably Old & Dirty) for frying is NEVER Changed; biscuit (which used to be my Favorite there) was Cold & HARD, & tasted Rancid (old flour) our server was not very attentive, until it was almost Tip Time. Also a mother & her son in 20’s also wanted to eat outdoors, but the mom kept telling her son, it’s FILTHY & DISGUSTING Here Outside!
