Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Fresno

Wish I would have read some of the reviews before going. The girl taking our order was pleasant. Not overly excited or friendly but not rude. We waited a little while for our food. No big deal. We ordered a drink separately, after the couple behind us ordered. Our drink came out. Apparently, the couple behind us had the same name as us, so when our drink was ready, they walked up to the counter and told the employee they called him. He was informed there were two people with the same name, so he sat back down. The guy calling out the food than walked their (the other family) food to them. We were confused because we ordered our food before they did, but figured maybe we ordered more than they did. So, we continued to wait. The man with the same name told them this was not his order. The employee looked confused because he was told specifically it was the so and so with the baby. (They had the baby) So they, I assume remade our food, so we continued to wait. The other family got their food before us than we got our food. We are pretty laid back, so the actual incident wasn't a huge deal. What really bothered us was not one employee said a thing to us the entire time we were there, other than taking the order and calling our name. We were sitting right next to the counter, so we knew what happened because we overheard, and watch. Not one explanation, not a sorry for the mix up, not a sorry for the wait, not even a thank you. Food was great, the cashiers seem to rush you, I didn’t even get to look at the menu fully also they need a better system for taking out orders. Might be due to being new but the wait time for 2 bagels was 25 minutes & they were calling out orders that were placed after mine was. They call out orders very quietly so everyone is huddled around the pick up table making it hard to hear the low voices of names being called. I’ll wait a few months to go back again hopefully it gets better.

*update tried their online ordering still had to wait an additional 20 minutes in store from my original pick up time of 15-20 minutes!!! They ran out of the bagel I ordered so they took it upon themselves to replace my breakfast with a plain bagel! Oh but it gets worst, they hand the coffee to the egg person so my cup… smelled like egg!!! Asked him for hot sauce he goes to the cabinets near the serving station opening boxes with the same gloves goes back to handling the eggs….Disgusting!

My first time trying einstein bros was when they first opened and I was not impressed with what they had to offer. Bagel sandwiches were bland and coffee was watered down and service was terrible. I made the mistake of giving them a second try today hoping they would have made some improvement. Upon walking in they were not busy at all besides door dashers coming in to pick up orders. I asked the gentleman taking my order for 5 all-nighters and he said "what?" I repeated my order and he shook his head and said "it will be a long wait". I asked how long and he said "about 20 minutes it will be a long wait." I had no issue waiting but he kept on insisting that it'll be a long wait. Which to me seemed like he was refusing to make the sandwiches. I politely thanked him for his time and while walking out, I caught a glimpse of him turning his back whispering something to his co worker... it's upsetting to see nothing has changed within this...
