Read moreMy husband and I decided to try a different Japanese Restaurant from our regular one, so we can see what other Japanese Restaurants offer in Fresno. This was a huge mistake. The service was terrible as I had to keep asking for things (table setting, soy sauce, water refill, and our appetizer which came out after our main course because the waitress forgot). I told my husband that I could forgive one person's deficiencies if the food is decent and it was terrible again. Not sure where the sushi chefs are trained or trained at all. I know I can be picky as I was born and raised in Japan but this was not even acceptable in American restaurant standards. The sushi came poorly rolled and the contents in the roll fell out into the soy sauce, the roll came apart as I tried to pick it up with my chop-sticks and the fish was old. I was very disappointed. The other Japanese Restaurant we frequent is superb (not sure if I can mention the name her so, I won't). We will not be returning to Namakazi and not sure why they are still in business. I didn't want to be harsh but it was such a bad experience for my husband and I. My husband ordered the Curried Rice and he didn't even finish half of his meal as he kept saying something is off. We live and learn and just wanted to share...
Read moreWas visiting from England to see my partner and accidentally stumbled upon Namikaze for a night out. As soon as we walked in through the door we were warmly welcomed by practically all staff members both those cooking and waiting staff. We were only waiting to be seated for barely 10 seconds before a lovely waitress directed us to a table. She provided us with a drinks menu and 2 food menus. The atmosphere was cozy and not too loud yet not too quiet either. Some good music as well to add to the vibes. The menu for both food and drink were clear and concise. Prices for drinks and food ranged averagely between 10 and 20 dollars which I'd expected for Japanese/sushi. We ordered an Asian take on a Moscow mule and a cherry blossom margarita both which were delicious and quite strong too. We ordered the yakisoba with beef and the tiger and rainbow sushi rolls as well as the deep fried crab. These were absolutely delicious and absolutely worth the money spent on them. The waitress serving us didn't catch her name sadly was amazing and gave us enough time to order without disappearing for ages. She was friendly, asked about ourselves and showed an interest.
We will absolutely be returning here soon.
TLDR: Go here if you want good service, good food and...
