How you do it, somehow add so much flavor and richness to your burritos, your tacos, your salsa.. my mind is blown away EVERYTIME!!! I always leave FULL, and that is when you know you are at a great establishment. I came back after a few years absence, a new store has been opened, the question of "quality" has arose from the new location but one thing remains the same.. the quality has never changed here. I missed the delicious smell of meat filling the air once you open the doors leading into heaven.. the aromas from the Chile at the salsa bar lead you over after you place your order. The staff is always welcoming and friendly! The one thing I did forget though was how much you can drop here without realizing it. 4 tacos, 1 asada burrito and a regular shrimp cocktail costs us 36 Dollars! Holy crap! I didn't really know how to react, my first thought was "well, you're here, you're hungry and you're handling your card over so too late" lol. Our food came up very fast! Like within less than five minutes we were eating. Granted, they were pretty much empty, the crowd began to trickle in after we had sat and got through half of our meal. We showed up at the right time! I've never had a burrito "taste" so fresh in my life! Everything was super hot! The beans tasted like they were just made, same for the rice and the meat had a nice char with some incredible spice notes. I was burning my mouth inhaling my burrito, I didn't care! The green sauce that was cooling off the inside but also making it spicier at the same time was well worth the trip and the amount. This will always be my "home away from home" Mexican spot. The place I first came to when I got super drunk and needed Mexican Food in Fresno spot. The Special place where you know you'll never be...
Read moreI had a bad experience with one of the employee who was a woman maybe around her early 40 or late 30. She took my order while giving a dirty look and she seems not to understand or speak English that well. I order some soft tocos to go and wanted some red and green habenero sauce. The sauce were out on the table so I'm asumming the customer are allow to use them. I grab the two sauce and two small plastic cups right when I open one of the sauce the same woman who took my order came right beside me and grab the sauce out of my hand and started pouring them into the two cups. I asked her that are we not allow to do this ourself? She just looked at me and mumble. I thank her while she just gave me a dirty look and walked off with the sauce in her hands. The tocos aren't bad but that woman is rude. I won't come to that restaurant again also the tocos...
Read moreIt's the best taco place and I've been going for years. Their steak and asada is a revelation and puts others to shame. The lengua is the best lengua can be. They're freshly stocked with green, ripe limes and various salsas at all times. They make their corn tortillas to order. There's table service at certain times, and other times it's self service. They have all types of meat to choose from, an extensive menu, hibiscus and tamarind drinks, sodas/sparkling water, and fresh desserts including cheesecake. I highly recommend Tacos TJ and make sure to go to the Cesar Chavez location if you want to try the old school place. There are tons of tables for four, some long family tables and more outside. There's a bathroom but it has a ton of graffiti and the sink water is freezing cold. The atmosphere in the restaurant is always polite, calm...
