I really hate writing this review because I've been going to this place forever. Yet, last night was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back. Last night's experience, unfortunately, will be my last. While I appreciate the friendly security and staff, I was very disappointed and slightly concerned by the bartenders' behavior.
During my friend's birthday celebration, we were repeatedly overcharged for drinks. My partner and I both noticed instances where drinks we had already paid for were added to my bill. For example, a friend in the group might order something for herself, close out her tab, then I'll go order, and that same drink is now on my tab, along with the drinks I ordered. This particular issue of adding additional drinks or sneaking them on happened more than four times. This not only significantly increased our spending without our consent but also left us feeling taken advantage of, especially on a special occasion. We consistently had to tell him about it (bartender), and even our friends were frustrated on our behalf.
After a few times, he seemed to curb that behavior, only to start a new one. After that, I got two beers and was charged $50. It was loud, and I thought for two beers he said $16. I wanted to confirm the total, so I asked for a printout and saw correctly: two beers, $50! The only saving grace was that I and a few of us were the sober ones, and we caught these mistakes. If we had been less alert, I don't think we would have caught this. I'm sure this little scam has not been the first time they have done this.
The bartender started tacking on extra charges, and this happened two more times before we were just done with this foolishness and left.
It's a shame, as I've enjoyed this place for so long, but I can no longer justify returning. You want to trust having a safe and fun time when you go out and alcohol is involved, and that means having honest employees who treat your customers with care as well.
Please be vigilant and double-check your charges, especially on weekends. I recommend getting printed statements each time before closing out....
Read moreThis was my fiancée and I first time visiting this spot and I unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be going back. We decided to give this place a try because we saw a few items from their menu online we thought we might try. The primary reason I’m ranking this a two star instead of one is because I wasn’t totally disappointed by the actual food itself. In fact, both my fiancée and I thought our dishes tasted good. However, the same can’t be said about the quality of service we received. We went on a Saturday evening and arrived just over an hour after they opened. We were expecting to be seated inside since there were many open tables available, but the hostess claimed that all the indoor seating had been reserved. We found that to be odd because had tried to make reservations but each time my fiancée called no one answered and there was nowhere on their website where we could make the reservation online. Since we were already there, we went ahead and sat in their outdoor patio. We had to move from the first table we sat at because the ground was uneven causing the table to wobble a bit. Our second table had a slight wobble as well, but it wasn’t as bad. Now I don’t know if maybe our server wasn’t having her best day, but the quality of service our table got was noticeably subpar in comparison to the tables around us. But as I mentioned before, the food we ordered tasted good and the dishes came out in a relatively descent time. We ordered three appetizers: braised pork quesadilla, ESB beer battered shrimp, and the grilled beef Thai rolls. And for the entrees we had the grilled juniper berry pork chop and the grilled white pepper...
Read moreThe 2 stars are for the food and ambiance! I loved sitting outside and listening to the band. On the other hand, what almost ruined the evening was our server, Jimmy. From the moment we opened the door, we were greeted with "we don't have seating outside." I said, "Oh, I have a reseveration for 3 for outside." He said, "let me repeat myself. We don't have seating outside."
From that moment on, it was a series of similar and unfortunate events. The rude and UNPROFESSIONAL behavior we received from the waiter Jimmy was unacceptable. Every interaction with him included him making rude or negative comments to us about the lenghty wait times we should expect and negative comments about his co-workers.
We received bread and butter with no utensils or napkins. Later, he brought a single menu, and WHILE handing it to me, he said, "Well, do you know what you want to eat?". How in the world could I know, when I or the two other guests hadn't even gotten to look at the one menu! When our food arrived, we still had not received utensils or napkins. When I mentioned this, he storms off to get some (every request being an inconvenience to him) and then apon return, he abruptly hands all three sets to me, leaving me to pass the utensils out.
His personality and behavior just about ruined my birthday dinner, but throughout all of this, we remained pleasant and considerate to him.
I hope that the owners and management realize that this type of employee is what will ruin an experience and drive...
