This is an accurate account of our two visits to this restaurant/bakery. My wife and I came in about a week ago so we could see the place and ask a few questions. We purchased a jar of the Hatch Chile Company medium hatch green chile which we have had before and some of the in house homemade pimento cheese. We ask a young man a few questions about the sandwiches and soup and he did a poor job of answering them because he just did not know the answers. I just gave up asking anymore questions and just wanted to check out. I just happened to look at the date of pimento cheese and noticed it was expired by a day. You had five of them out and only two of them had a decent date. I told him about this and he said absolutely nothing, just a blank stare. I pulled the other two expired ones and gave them to him. He rang us up and I caught that the total was not correct and ask him why the jar rang up $15 and not $12 that was on the jar. I showed him a couple of other jars and they are all marked the same,$12. He still said that's what it was ringing up and my wife said that she would like to speak to someone but he said that was not necessary and fixed it. So much for the companies mission statement of be loose and have fun because he was most certainly not doing that. We got home and later that evening opened some Tostitos to have as a snack with the pimento cheese. I am a cheese junkie, any kind except blue cheese. This was by far the absolute worst pimento cheese we have ever had. It was kind of wet but had absolutely no flavor at all. Just bland, bland, bland. We thru it away and just called it a loss. My wife did see that if you sign up for the rewards you will receive either a sandwich of your choice or a loaf of bread. My wife signed up along with me and my mother. We gave the place another try and ate there today. We all got the roasted pepper chipotle cheesesteak sandwich. There were 4 ladies working there today, two older and two younger. I did not get their names so excuse me if I do not describe them correctly. The one older lady was definitely new because she did not have a clue how to ring me up and messed it up so the one younger lady had to fix it and she was pissed !!! We also ordered a blueberry scone and a bread pudding for my mother. She finally fixed the order and we sat down to eat. There are only two good things I can say about the two experiences. First the sandwiches were good and we all agreed they were a 7-8 on a scale of 0-10. The bread made the sandwich for sure. The scone was dry and not so good but the bread pudding was really good. The other thing that was embarrassing and also really made me angry was the same young shorter lady came up to the table in the middle of us eating and looked me square in the eyes and said that those are water glasses that we gave you and you cant get a beverage out of the fountain without paying for it. I told her that my wife and I are borderline diabetic and that we brought our own zero cokes in because on the first trip we did not see any beverages that we would drink and they said that we could bring our own in. That jerk of and employee did not say sorry or anything and just walked off. She took the philosophy to heart and ran to the table when she thought she could catch someone stealing your fountain drinks. The second positive thing we can say is that both times that we came in the extremely tall young lady was very nice to us and was smiling both times we came in. I told her what the other employee did and she apologized more that once for her words and actions. She is the kind of employee I would want working for me if I owned this business. I support small businesses especially our local community ones but unfortunately none of us will ever be returning to give you any of our hard...
Read moreStopped by this past Sunday. We like supporting local business' and had seen it going up for quite some time; we were excited to finally be able to try it out. Unfortunately, it was no Sunday Fun Day for us. The lady at the counter got our order wrong twice before finally ringing it up. After we thought we had resolved it (which was verbal because we were not given a physical receipt), we grabbed a table to wait. After 36 minutes of waiting, for a To Go order, someone came out and told us that they were backed up and it would be 25 minutes. We finally got our food and were short a sandwich. When we went back up to the counter we were told it was accidentally left off of the order. We were then informed that it would be another 25 minutes if we wanted to wait for it. Our biggest complaints are the lack of communication and issue resolution; it is pretty standard to inform customers of the wait time if it's excessive; we would have simply gone elsewhere for the day since we had other appointments that afternoon. Then, after being informed of their mistake, not making any effort to correct it was disconcerting. We live 4 minutes away and the sandwiches were cold by the time we got home. The sandwiches were OK but not remarkable; we would say around Panera level. The Snickerdoodle cookie was overcooked on the bottom and crumbled on the dry side. The Berry Cream Cheese Scone looked really good, but was surprisingly bland for all the color and texture that it had. We did not try any bread, which the menu seemed to indicate was their specialty. Even with all the expected, and completely understandable, growing pains a new business faces, the lack of concern or customer service is enough to keep us from going back. It's a shame because it's local and and we had hoped to very...
Read moreA little disappointed in this place. I have been in numerous times and really enjoyed this place. Went in yesterday and ordered the same sandwich baja turkey I always order. When I received the order it was wrong. No big deal. I went back inside to let them know my order was wrong. The cashier began to try to argue with me about what I ordered and said she couldn't correct it unless I paid. She said I was on the phone and ordered wrong. I had actually muted my phone when I placed the order. I wasn't upset the order was wrong or there was a mis communication but very disappointed in how the cashier handled it. I had to request to speak with the manager just to get a corrected sandwich. The manager then seemed frustrated with me and said I needed to make sure I specify which sandwich I wanting the future. I didn't even realize there were 2 different sandwiches that had the word baja. Just very very disappointed in how it was handled and won't be back due to the lack of customer service.
In response to your response: I said baja. The cashier argued with me that I said roasted pepper which I never said. My issue is the way the cashier handled the situation. Mistakes absolutely happen. Ive never had a restraunt argue with me about what I ordered. The sandwich was only remade after I requested to speak with a manager. Originally the cashier told me I ordered it wrong and could not remake it...
