I stopped by Bolt this past Saturday morning during the Cars and Coffee event at Aviator Smokehouse. With so many people in town and limited options at the show, I thought this would be a great chance for Bolt to shine. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.

When I arrived, the barista mentioned she had been there since 7:30 but ignored customers who showed up before 8 a.m. because “we don’t open till 8.” She also said she didn’t really want the car show crowd unless they were “big tippers.” That comment alone was discouraging to hear as a customer.

When I tried to order a chai with oat milk, I was told they were out of chai mix altogether. It seems like a small thing, but during a big event with a thousand potential customers a block away, this felt like a huge missed opportunity. A quick restock or even some basic preparation could have made a big difference.

I want this shop to succeed, I wouldn’t want anyone representing my business this way. Hopefully, the owners see this as constructive feedback and use...

This was my first time at this coffee shop. I literally just stopped because I wanted a coffee from anywhere that was close. What stood out the most was that the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I was going to settle for a basic caramel latte, but the gentleman who helped me at the counter suggested their popular caramel craze. It was an amazing suggestion! I highly recommend it. While I was waiting for my latte, another staff member offered me a free sample of their ice cream. I tried the ube marshmallow ice cream and it was fantastic! Update 11/1: Abby is hands down the best. She is makes all my drinks flawlessly and always makes me laugh. She puts up with my random drinks and adding peanut butter or huckleberry them. 🤣 She can tell she loves what she does and honestly puts in effort to get to know her regulars and what they like. I'll always be coming to bolt. 🩷❤️
