Every time my friend visits my sister and me, we go to Nil’s to enjoy a chicken salad sandwich. All of us have been professional restauranteurs. In fact, my friend owned a restaurant for 40 years that won the James Beard American’s Classic Restaurant award in 2009 and 2011 and his long time chef won the James Beard Best Chef of the Southeast in 2009 and 2010.
Unfortunately, we had a horrible experience this last time. My friend asked the nice young lady working the floor if she could clean our favorite window table. She said sure and proceeded to clear the table. She got caught up at the cash register and didn’t have time to wipe it down, so we sat down at the empty table and waited.
The floor manager yelled across the room- MA’AM, MA’AM we’re not finished cleaning off that table. Then she aggressively sprayed bleach spray and angrily banged the extra chairs against the wall before stomping off. When she brought our food to the table she dropped it and stormed off without asking if we needed anything else. When I went to the restroom, she glared at me. It was a very uncomfortable and a humiliating experience.
Needless to say, we all know how to behave in a restaurant and would never dream of treating a guest in a way that wasn’t hospitable. What’s wrong with “Hello, let me wipe down this table for you”?
So sad that a memorable ritual that we all enjoyed will never happen again. Instead we will have a good chicken salad sandwich at my home, and I will never be bullied at...
Read moreWe were craving something fresh, flavorful, and filling—and this spot completely delivered.
We started with the pita pocket lamb & beef burger, and let me tell you—it was incredible. The meat was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The soft pita held everything together beautifully, and every bite was packed with flavor. It had that perfect balance of smoky, savory, and slightly tangy from the sauce. One of the best Mediterranean-style burgers I’ve ever had.
We also ordered the chicken platter, and it was just as impressive. The grilled chicken was tender and bursting with flavor, and the portion size was very generous. What really stood out were the sides—they didn’t hold back! From the fluffy rice and fresh salad to the hummus and warm pita, every element was thoughtfully prepared. The whole dish was hearty and satisfying without being heavy.
The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere inside was casual and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re getting a home-cooked meal but with restaurant-level execution.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting it to be this good, but everything blew me away. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for dinner with family, this place is a hidden gem.
Would definitely visit again—and next time, I’m bringing more people with me to try even more...
Read moreI'm thrilled to have discovered Nil's Mediterranean Cuisine in downtown Fuquay! We visited on a Friday evening, and to our delight, we were seated promptly at 7 pm. The cozy ambiance set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.
Our orders were expertly prepared, and every dish exceeded our expectations. The Kofte Platter, Greek salad with Gyro, and Greek salad with falafel were all outstanding. The tomato soup, served with a side of warm pita, was a nice touch, although it was a tad too sour for my taste. The portions were generous, and the quality of each dish was exceptional. The Gyro and Kofte meats were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spices, making them incredibly succulent. The falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – a perfect execution!
The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff eager to please. The young lady at the register was particularly impressive, taking the initiative to clean our table, even though we didn't ask her to. Her kindness and dedication to customer satisfaction left a lasting impression.
Overall, our experience at Nil's Mediterranean Cuisine was outstanding. We can't wait to return and indulge in more of their delicious...
