This place is a step above a small town taqueria. Authentic Mexican food with some unique items you won’t find in an all too normal Tex mex restaurant. Sopes and Huaraches are Two examples. Food is homemade and better than the other taquerias in Gainesville. I was surprised to see They even have breakfast selections like a country cafe, like pancakes, French toast and eggs. Quite an eclectic selection of food. I applaud their bravery and thinking outside the box. I was surprised and disappointed to hear I wud be charged extra when I asked for more chips and salsa while waiting for food so I politely declined. Salsa was served in tiny individual bowl w about two tablespoons. They can do better. I had green enchiladas which were tangy and tasty and enough food for a man’s meal. Wife had chorizo tacos on corn tortillas which were also tasty and enough for her. I Added a sope Al Pastor to top off my meal and I was satisfied. Food was nicely and timely prepared and we will be back. I suggest they serve bigger bowls of salsa with our chips and reconsider charging for extra. That’s not a good idea. Service was prompt and to the point. Not much banter with us even though we gringos spoke Spanish. Atmosphere was adequate with clean dining room and real Mexican music over speakers. Everything was okay but the Food alone will...
Read moreUpdate: they have moved away from their location on US82. They are now a take out only style service out on I-35 north of Gainesville. —————— The latest restaurant to inhabit the old Fuzzy’s Tacos location is a full service authentic Mexican Food Taqueria Restaurant. The food is appropriate for this style of food. The prices are definitely reasonable and not overpriced. The ticket comes to the table with a total and and second cash price. The printed menus have hand written prices that are 4% higher than the cash total. So $9 for the three fajita enchiladas with red sauce, sour cream, and fresh avocado slices served with rice and refried beans with the obligatory chips and smooth salsa is entirely the going rate. $3 tacos are only overpriced when compared to fast food options. I also had iced tea with plenty of Splenda for $3. They are open for breakfast too.
While I have given five stars, my preference is TexMex. On that basis it would really be four stars as I enjoy chili con carne and cheese enchiladas, with more flavorful beans and rice, and chunky salsa. But this place is authentically a...
Read moreLos Dos Primos is a must-visit Mexican restaurant for anyone living in or visiting the Gainesville Texas area. Just north of town on highway 82, this small cantina style taqueria is easy to find and just as easy to enjoy. The food is authentic, delicious, and affordable. The atmosphere is pleasant, the owner and staff are all very friendly, and the service was top notch. I particularly enjoyed the steak fajitas, the deep fried beef burrito, and chicken quesadillas which were all full of flavor, cooked perfectly, and ready faster than I would have expected. I look forward to trying more of the menu on...
