Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Gainesville

GOOD: I ordered 5 large pizzas with two toppings using the FM50 (Full Moon 50% Off) coupon, paying about $9/pizza - a good value.

BAD: The two toppings I selected were "Double Meatballs", which seemed somewhat on the low side in number. Some slices barely had a single meatball (sliced into what were approximately quarters). I've ordered meatballs from Marco's before, and the "Regular" portion of meatballs I received looked basically the same as the "Double" portion I ordered this time. Disappointing.

UGLY: Rather than traditional pizza sauce (i.e., tomato-based) I ordered each pizza to have "White Sauce". However, when I tried a slice, I could not taste any sauce at all. Upon further inspection, lifting the cheese, I could not SEE any sauce at all. The cheese seemed to be stuck directly to the dough. I've ordered pizzas with white sauce before from other franchises/restaurants, and it has always been a somewhat thick, creamy sauce - like Alfredo - that you could actually see and definitely taste on the pizza. This was not the case with the Marco's pizzas I ordered. I even called to ask if perhaps it had been forgotten, but the employee explained that their white sauce is very thin and possibly not even visible on the pizza, being absorbed by the crust. Frankly, I'm not sure I buy this...

...but I'm QUITE sure I won't buy it again.

$50 worth of disappointing pizzas.

Badly done,...

Placed a delivery order with a 30 minute "promise time". At the 30 minute mark and no order, I decided to call the store to confirm that they were aware since the order was placed online. She said it was ready so I asked when it would be delivered which was apparently news to her because she was unaware it was for delivery but, not to worry as it just came out and she was going to send it out right away.. 15 minutes later she called back to tell me that they somehow didn't have a delivery address for my order. I gave her the address and was told it was going to be immediately sent out. 20 minutes later I called the store and was told the driver was still on the way with my order which is highly unlikely as I live about a mile away from the store. At this time I decided just to cancel my order. There are no real customer service hotlines or contact us options, you are asked to call the store and speak to a confused employee that has to call a store manager for information and get back to you, or you go to the online site which asks for feedback and bounces you in a circle of log in to leave feedback, logs in and forwards you to order page, clicks contact us, log in to leave feedback .....

Let me start by saying i love Marco’s and i have eagerly awaited the opening of this store. More times than i care to admit i previously would trek over to Ocala to get a Pepperoni Magnifico and a meaty pizza bowl (minimal carbs). This visit was 3 days from the new Gainesville store opening and i expected some “kinks”. The Pepperoni Magnifico pizza on the thin crust was terrific as usual and by itself deserved 5 stars. The pizza bowl needs improvement. I got the standard meat bowl and added mushrooms. Wow what a let down. The portions of toppings were far short of what i get at their other stores, they failed to add the mushroom i paid for and they had about triple the amount of pizza sauce. The result was a few pieces of ham, bacon, sausage and pepperoni swimming in a pool of sauce. Hopefully this review will help them train their staff on attention to detail on making the pizza bowls and i will be able to go back to the 5 star experience i am used to.
