La Gondola Spaghetti House — Restaurant in Galesburg

This place was legit. We ordered the spaghetti dinner and lasagna. My toddler devoured 95% of the adult spaghetti plate. We have been traveling for about a week and he has only been willing to eat chicken nuggets from certain Arby’s locations. Needless to say, your spaghetti saved the day! My son is diagnosed with autism and sensory processing disorder so this was a huge win if you understand what I mean. IYKYK. He crawled up in my lap and just went to town! Best spaghetti I’ve had in a while. I need the sauce recipe. Is it a secret? Or for a price? Idk, it was all delicious and we knew it would be because the place was filled with the more experienced locals when my boyfriend went inside to order. Ordered all you could eat spaghetti. Asked if I could take a late with me before oredering. Was told I could. When I asked for it. I was told no. Very rudely by the only female. But she would ask her manager. I then asked for extra sauce and a container to go. I ate only half of my food because I am working about a 12 hour shift. The lady told me at this time about what the manager must have said. She never returned to my table. She did serve another table close to me. Where she could have turned around and informed me. I would not habe gotten the all thou could eat if I could not have taken my next plate with me. I would have just gotten spaghetti ala carte for $1.30...

My family and I stopped here on our way through Illinois. There was a La Gondola in my hometown of Quincy, so it’s a very nostalgic place to eat(Austin gave me a bucket to take with! Thanks, Austin!). If you’re looking for a fancy Italian place, look elsewhere, but my hometown LG was a complete hole in the wall, so this place was upscale compared to that. But personally I like the aesthetic of the place. It was clean with that hometown feel. And the customer service was impeccable! Austin is a super nice guy who really took care of me and my family.
