HANDICAPPED CUSTOMERS NOT WELCOME. First, the reason I gave ** is because my family (and I) previously ate there a few times over the past couple of months and really liked it. In fact it had become one of our new favorite places. We have a relative who lives in the are that we visit often and treat out to eat as we always do. She wanted to go to JD's. Since I was last there though a couple of months ago, my health has declined more (had a cane last time) and I now have to use a walker. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon when there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Most tables and even the bar were mostly empty. A girl came & told us we could sit anywhere since there were was a lot of empty seating--mostly booths available or tables and chairs that were up on platform. My sister asked if we could sit in the usual room we always sit in at one of the regular tables and was told no because the room was reserved for a private party for later. We stated that I needed a table with chairs on at least one side. We noticed a longer table which appeared near the front right when you walk in against the side wall & asked if we could sit there. This flustered the young woman and she said she would have to check. She went off for a few minutes to see if we could sit "where we want". The barmaid saw us waiting a bit and called out to sit where we want. We should have just listened to her. We told her that we were told we had to wait to see where we could be seated. She seemed a little perplexed. The young woman came back and apologized and stated we could not sit at the larger table because there was not enough of us (there were three of us) and offered us a tiny table for two with two chairs with barely any aisle space. Seriously? Talk about not making us feel like we were welcome--or at least I didn't. This offended my sister and daughter and we told the young woman that was not acceptable especially with all the empty tables they had and they could have pulled apart the tables that were pushed together in that one area which still would have left them with a table for 4 and two tables for 6. She didn't seem to know how to handle the situation and apologized. We started to leave and saw a young, tall man who seemed to have a bit of an attitude coming toward the front of the restaurant and I asked if he was the manager and he said no and we asked why we could not sit at a regular table and pointed to the room that had the tables and he said because they were saving it for larger groups. Please note that as you walk into the restaurant and look to your right up on a platform are three large table groupings for large groups. I asked to speak to the manager at this point. Just then a family of about 5 came in and the annoyed young man decided to seat them before getting the manager for us. Where did he take them? To the tables we were requesting to be seated at. They were all able-bodied family of various ages and no disabilities that could have been seated at the larger tables on the platform. The young man then went into the back to get the manager. We waited for quite a few minutes and no one came back to talk to us so be left. As a handicapped person I found this experience a bit humiliating to be treated with such disregard especially in front of my special needs child. This also offended my relative who is a member of the clergy. It is hadn't been so humid and muggy we would have eaten at the outdoor tables, but there should have been no reason for a nearly empty restaurant to not cater to handicapped person. What a shame. The food is good and our family has eaten there several times over the past few months. Highly unlikely we will eat there again as long as handicapped people are not welcome to sit and dine inside at a regular table with chairs. Some of the staff could use better training. I really would like the owner of this establishment to explain their policies on how they treat people with disabilities who...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars -- I would. My friends and I went here last Friday night after a wedding. You first walk in and it smells sour. Close to closing time they yelled for last call for alcohol so my boyfriend busys 2 Coronas and a 6 pack to go. We were finishing up a game of billiards, the 2 Coronas done with, and my BF offers a beer from the 6 pack to the guy who beat him. A bartender with short black hair and tattoos comes over and starts yelling "who's drinking from the 6 pack?!" My BF tried to explain the situation and she interrupted yelling and clapping "No! No! Last call was called can't do that nope!" And kicks us out of the area while throwing out the newly opened Corona. Call me crazy but that's not how you treat paying customers. To top it off, other employees started yelling that we had to "get TF out." Unfortunate that we didn't get the same experience as others did. Hopefully it doesn't happen to other...
Read moreThis was my go to place to order wings weekly but not anymore due to the man who answers the phone, believe he said his name was "Joe" if he even told me the truth. He makes me feel like I am a bother ordering takeout every single encounter with him (a lot of times). He asked if I wanted anything else after I ordered 1 "8" piece of wings and I said sure I will have extra sauce please and he huffed and puffed and said uhhh you are making me go back to different screens now, I said well you did ask me what else I wanted? Very unhappy unpleasant man that should NOT be working in customer service. Last straw, I ordered a filet sub for my husband and he said ok what else and I said 1 order of "8 " wings and he very rudely and loudly said "I am not done with the sub yet!!!" Well excuse me because I was and again you asked me "what else." Maybe he needs to get laid. You lost...
