My daughter and I took a 10 day road trip from Albuquerque to Las Vegas. I had lived in the area 21 years ago and wanted my daughter to experience the SW and my love for the high desert. Having my roots as a PNW gal I’m always on the search for good coffee wherever I go ( and Starbucks is always a last ditch effort ). The Gallup Coffee Company caught my eye because I not only enjoy good coffee but architecture and old buildings are another passion of mine. Not only did I get an AMAZING tasting coffee while I was here, but I got to enjoy the refurbished building, and pleasant atmosphere. The staff was pleasant, friendly and made my morning a pleasant one. Even came back later after my daughter woke, and the next day on our way out. I will also be ordering some beans as soon as I finish what is left at home. Go grab yourself an amazing cup of Joe. And when traveling from other parts of the country, remember that you’re traveling to other cultures. I’ve lived in many states along the west coast and people are different in every place Ive lived and I need to adapt to them. Be...
Read moreFor as small of a city as Gallup is, you wouldn't expect to big-city quality coffee roasters. This coffee shop's back must be hurting from holding the city up with its caffeinated goodness.
Located in the heart of Mainstreet, parking is easily found, and the sign leads you right into an inviting space. There is plenty of seating, and often full of patrons enjoying free wifi and drinks.
The coffee is INCREDIBLE. Some of my favorites are their New Mexican-flavored Biscochito Latte, and their cold brew - it is quality. They also offer baked goods which, technically is a separate business, but still in the same shop. Their bagels are to die for, and they serve some really great cream cheese with green chile. The best part? The prices are incredibly cheap - $3.00 for a cold brew in 2021? It's unheard of!
The service is attentive and kind. Overall this coffee shop has everything you'd want it to have: vibes, excellent coffee, and even specialty blends to take home. I cannot recommend this...
Read moreI always judge a coffee shop on their iced vanilla latte. Why you ask? It's primarily milk and vanilla has a very distinct flavor, so the flavor of the espresso has to work extra hard to let you know it's there. Gallup coffee passed!!! They use a medium roast for the espresso which means you actually taste the bean! The vanilla is made in house and you can taste the quality of that syrup. Unfortunately I don't live close so it'll be awhile before I can ever come back. But they roast there own beans so hopefully I can order some thanks for the amazing quality drink! The service was excellent.. I don't remember the baristas name but she has a shaved head and was a doll! sweet, kind and willing to put up with my banter. My wife and I will never forget our first trip to Gallup and the great coffee we...
