What a great park! Despite the fact that there was snow on the ground (really new mexico? It may be February, but you are very far south!), I am so glad I stopped. Huge and spacious, with lots of room to run around for my dog. Small and large sections, always appreciated. Only used as a stopover during a long drive, but cannot be more thrilled that I did. Highly recommend if you are a local or a visitor to the area with a dog. It was a well used park, clearly very popular with the locals, but justifiably so. There were lots of gazebos with sitting area. Forgot to look for water, so bring yours just in case as it may not be winterized.

I cannot believe that more people and pooches don't use this park! This was our first visit there, and the park was empty all morning. It is huge, clean, has picnic tables, and a good amount of shade under a few older trees. The city provides clean-up bags and trash cans; there are also 2 water fountains and ample parking. Our two rescue dogs have never been to a dog park before and started exploring right away. I guess we have to make it a regular thing now! Highly recommend a visit!

Dog park was properly fenced and had agility equipment. Good sized large dog area and small dog area. Seems to be a favorite with the locals. Had a bad experience with a bully dog that the owner would not correct and was forced to leave the park early due to this.

So. Many. Sticker burrs. My husband, me and our 3 dogs stopped here during our cross-country move to Phoenix. We were surprised to see that it was empty when we pulled up (2:00 on a BEAUTIFUL Saturday afternoon). It was a great park in theory, even with the lack of grass (understandable for the area). It was fairly spacious and had an area for the small dogs and large dogs. It also had water fountains for the humans and their furry friends too. But man, oh man... the stickers! Within about 2 minutes all three dogs were limping. We even tried both sides (large and small) since no one was there with the same result. Our bassett mix was too scared to even walk to the gate when we decided to leave. Too bad, it was fairly...

It's great that Gallup offers this amenity to its locals and visitors. There is ample parking and the area is quite spacious. Unfortunately it seems that many of those who choose to utilize this area have little respect! The city generously offers up several stations where free feces collection bags and trash cans are located. Sadly lazy pet owners seem oblivious to the concept of picking up after their own pet. This creates a very unsanitary and frankly disgusting environment to exercise and socialize dogs. I have utilized dog parks in many cities. This has never been a problem before! I have never been more dissatisfied or disappointed with such a park. Dog owners that disregard the obvious privilege ought...
