Looking for a patio by the water to enjoy food, drinks and Astros baseball? Look no further! This 2-story restaurant is nestled in the beautiful Sea Isle subdivision just passed Jamaica Beach in the West End of Galveston. The restaurant is in a marina right off the bay. You can drive your boat up to the restaurant or park in the subdivision parking area. This spacious restaurant has an area to get some sunshine, or if you prefer the shade, you can sit under an umbrella or completely be shaded under the full covered seating area. There are fans for cooling off in hot weather. I've been to this establishment even in a rainstorm and it was still a good time. The service was wonderful. Hanna was our waitress. She made recommendations and was able to answer questions. The drinks and food were well presented and delicious! I had a Ranch Water - yum - and he had a margarita. Both very good. We started our meal with the "Shrimp Kisses" appetizer. Bacon wrapped shrimp with a light buffalo sauce glaze. 4 to an order placed on a bed of rice. The bacon was crisp, and the item stayed together through all my bites. Probably the best bacon wrapped shrimp I have ever had! For my entree, I ordered the blacken chicken sandwich. He had the fish (flounder) tacos. Both were prepared nicely and very tasty! We finished our drinks and watched a little of the Astros game on the big screen projection type TV. Smaller TVs are all around the bar for viewing. The energy was relaxed, and the day couldn't have been better spent! Sandbar is a dog friendly place. They even have water bowls for your pooch, if needed. Next to the restaurant is a convenient store with beer products, cokes and anything else you may need on the spot. $100.56 (without tip) for 2 adults to dine. I have visited Sandbar 4 times now and no matter the weather, I have always enjoyed it. This place has a good thing going, for sure! Highly recommend!! Maybe we'll see you on our next visit.

I have had the best experiences here! A place to create lasting memories! I go here as much as I can to listen to the live music and it’s so fun! The waiters and bartenders are always on top of their game and very friendly! I took my niece here for her 8th birthday and early dinner they brought her a virgin strawberry daiquiri, sea food platter and they brought her a birthday huge chocolate sundae with happy birthday on it! She loved it all! They were so friendly!!! Best waiter I’ve ever had. My niece loved the food and the experience. Recently I took my mom there for some margaritas and dinner, the margs are so refreshing and delicious! All fresh ingredients! We got the ceviche for an appetizer and ate it all, was so good and I lived in Costa Rica for 8 years so I know good ceviche, I have been craving it ever since. I got the shrimp po boy, was excellent! Huge portions/ I had half for lunch the next day. My mom got the fish and chips! Best fries we have ever had. Our waitress was very kind, timing was perfect on everything, the bust guy was so kind and friendly, great music playing- every song we loved, wonderful views, nice breeze. The manager even checked on the tables twice. I feel so lucky we have the marina bar and grill (sand bar) I love the way it looks and am grateful for it all! I studied hospitality management and have run many of my own company’s. They are doing a great job here!

Wow can I just start with that. I had to go get my own menus. They are all sitting around smoking and vaping. The tables have old food on them for no telling how long. The birds are just eating the plates beside us. Ordered the over priced alcoholic drinks and I seriously doubt there’s any alcohol at all in them we are one of 3 tables in here with 4-6 servers and we have all been waiting over an hour. Absolutely terrible service food and drinks. Nasty and dirty establishment. They have ants on the floors biting you. If I could give no stars I would. Save your money it’s not worth the over priced food and drinks and you will need 2 hours to get your food

I struggled with giving 5 stars because of the 2nd staff member I dealt with. First staff member I spoke with was Ricky. I verified that the restaurant was dog-friendly, but then he told me all service was upstairs. I'm travelling with my mom who has mobility issues. I asked if there was an alternate way up besides the stairs. He said there's an elevator used for food service that I could ask about using upstairs. Up I went and grabbed a staff member coming from the wait station, empty-handed. I asked her abt the elevator and here comes Ricky to help us out. She was not helpful when I approached & it got worse with Ricky. She told him that was HIS job, but he explained that while he was.working on backlog items, he was not on duty. She was not a manager & should not have spoken to Ricky that way even if she was - particularly in front of a patron. Ricky helped my mom get upstairs anyway and made sure we got a kinder, friendlier server when I asked for an alternate to.my initial encounter. Shana was our server and she was friendly, pleasant and attentive. I didn't catch the name of the first woman, but she had long blonde hair worn in a braid. The food was very tasty and I would eat there again UNLESS the blonde one was the only server; I'd turn around & leave. Ricky is a...
