It's A Jerk Shack — Restaurant in Garden City

Food: My rice and peas was covered in gravy. It looked like someone used a cup and scooped gravy out of the pot and poured it all over the rice. So I’m thinking this restaurant is a soul food/southern eatery sponsored by a Jamaican Chef at that point. It was to the point to where I had rice and gravy basically! The gravy was spilling out of the container so much the bottom of the plastic bag was wet!

Ox Tails: Some of us ordered Ox Tails and they were so small that it looked like they double sliced a slice of the Ox Tail. The flavor of the food was good and not disappointing though, flavor wise. The Plantains were good and I’d purchase them again! I would tell them to hold the gravy or ask them to place it on the side.

Service: No! No! No! The service is bad. You could be speaking to a young lady at the register and she would totally look at you and answer your question as if you are bothering her! Don’t expect to be greeted, simply place your order and wait for your food. Sit Down and Shut Up! Get your food and go! If you expect this, you’ll be great.

Atmosphere: Basic and not many places to sit. This is a small spot located on a corner. There were a lot of vehicles on the property that made it look like a wrecker yard but just focus on your food and...

This place is garbage. I doubt they ever had authentic Jamaican food and they damn sure never been to the islands. This is a poor excuse for Jamaican food and they need to be shutdown for false advertisement. I got the stewed chicken and curry chicken the stewed chicken wasn't stewed at all the curry chicken had no sauce on it and was raw, I threw it out so I can't tell you if it actually has curry seasoning on it. The rice and peas was overcooked and had maybe two peas in it. Plantains tasted like they weren't when they tried to cook them. The beef patty was mediocre I've had better frozen beef patties than this. HORRIBLE! I usually go to island breeze because they are consistent and that's real authentic Jamaican food. Idk what to call this I took two bites and threw it straight in the trash...

I ordered the Curry Chicken for my sister, which honestly left a lot to be desired. The curry chicken had no flavor whatsoever. She did make me try it, and it wasn't the worst, but it also wasn't the best. I went for the Jerk Chicken, which was way better. I also ordered a Jamaican Patty, which I must say was absolutely disgusting. The actual pastry of the patty was not done at all and had no volume as in flaky. You could barely taste the beef, and as you can see in the picture the Patty was very flat This was the second time I've eaten here because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. No doubt this will be the last time I eat here. If I had to rate this place out of 5 stars, they would definitely get 2...
